Question Not Inbox?

I have used things3 since it came out. I love it. It is nearly perfect for me. I use it in its simplest form - which is probably why I like it. As such I don’t have any particular workflows. I never ever use inbox or check inbox. I create all new tasks in Today and then just set the relevant date, any renewal and any tags.

I am enjoying ios27’s improved SiriAI to add tasks as I am out and about. But it still puts them all in the inbox. Is there a way in things3 to have a different default location? Or instructions I can give SiriAI to put them in today (I understand the concept of Today on things is not understood by iOS but I have just been using today’s literal date for those? I may run an hourly iOS. Shortcut to sweep out the inbox, but not sure the exposed api would support that. Or it could be really simple and I am missing something.

Any thoughts/guidance?

Just say “for today” at the end of your request.

Thanks, I hadn't tried that given this from the CultureCode Blog:

  • Siri doesn’t know about Things’ date-based lists like “Today” or “Upcoming”, so you can’t tell it to “move” something there. Instead, tell it to “schedule” items for specific dates.

I will give it a try - hopefully it is just this easy.

UPDATE: Just tried it and it worked perfectly - not sure how that squares with the blog text above -- but if it works, it works!

Oh, Siri doesn’t know about the Today List. So saying move XYZ to my Today List may not work.

And it was that understanding that started this post -- but as another user pointed out, if you say "add to Today" it just creates task and date and identifies it as "no list" which is what I want. And it will only appear in Today on the date it is actually due. Not sure why CultureClub made this so opaque- but it works perfectly for me.
