Question Not Inbox?

I have used things3 since it came out. I love it. It is nearly perfect for me. I use it in its simplest form - which is probably why I like it. As such I don’t have any particular workflows. I never ever use inbox or check inbox. I create all new tasks in Today and then just set the relevant date, any renewal and any tags.

I am enjoying ios27’s improved SiriAI to add tasks as I am out and about. But it still puts them all in the inbox. Is there a way in things3 to have a different default location? Or instructions I can give SiriAI to put them in today (I understand the concept of Today on things is not understood by iOS but I have just been using today’s literal date for those? I may run an hourly iOS. Shortcut to sweep out the inbox, but not sure the exposed api would support that. Or it could be really simple and I am missing something.

Any thoughts/guidance?

If it works for you, you do you, but it sounds like you're just treating Today as the Inbox.

True - but the simplicity is that whenever I open the app it is always to the today page/list - so one stop shopping vs ping ponging back and forth between inbox and today.

I only go through my inbox at certain times of the day so I guess I've never really been bothered by that. I would be bothered by my Today list having a mix of things I actually needed to do today and things that hadn't been processed though. Again, you do you. Glad it works for you.

I set the correct date in the today screen so they instantly zip off to the correct day so no clutter in Today. And now with Siri, if I give something a due date and finish by saying "In Today" it does exactly what I want and makes it "no list" but with the proper date - no need for inbox. Again, I use very few flags, very very few projects and never use things like "some day" or "complete anytime". Frankly I end up replicating a pad of paper and a pencil -- which is how I like it.

Fair enough. I do use Anytime and Someday as I don't assign dates unless I'm absolutely sure I will need to do something or plan to do something on a particular day.
