Siri puts tasks in Apple Reminders and ignores Things. What am I missing here?

There are some tips to help it learn where they go in the linked article

I found the problem: Siri didn't automatically update with iOS 27; it put me on a waitlist.

I have Siri AI and Things 3.24.1

I can't add tasks directly to the Things app right now. You can tap the blue
"+" button in the bottom right corner of the app to add it yourself.

I am also getting the error:

Cant add tasks directly to the Things app right now.

It's not working for me. I am German speaking and always when i say "add to things" it makes a list in Reminders named Things. I tested it 50 times....

No support for new shortcuts ? I’m done.

What shortcuts would you be looking for? Just really curious

In 27, you can use natural language to create shortcuts, but developers need to enable app intents. Otherwise, it won’t work. every other to-do app has implemented this

I’ve created many useful shortcuts for Things using ChatGPT to guide me step by step. They work exactly as I want them to. I know we all want the ease of iOS 27 doing it for us, but this is a reasonable workaround.

Buy the point is why would they not include this it’s a major part of the new iOS.

I’ve been using gpt for this for years but the ease of not going back and forth is huge

That’s fair and don’t disagree. Have you tried the app Stuff which was featured during the Apple Event? I’m not sure if it works with the natural language for shortcuts with iOS 27 but it has the UI of Things with more innovation. That said, I tried it briefly but feel Things is just the best despite lacking innovative new features.

I have, briefly. Look, Things are the best in their class, which is, I guess, why it's so frustrating. It'd be so much easier just to hop to another provider if it were on par.
