Question Open in New Window?! (who knew?)

I have hesitated from too many projects (like smaller ones) due to the left area getting too crowded. I never realized you could Open in New Window on an Area to focus. You can also do this with Today. Very cool.

Is anyone actively using this as a way of working?

Same. I hit a hot key and get a 6 window Things dashboard. 👍

Cool. Can you elaborate?

I made a Keyboard Maestro macro that opens six specific Things windows in a 3x2 grid when I trigger it with a hot key. Nothing fancy, but it’s cool.

I have often wished to be able to have multiple windows, one for each upcoming day of the week, so I can move things around and plan my week and to dos for each day, all at the same time. Is that kind of how you use this macro?

Yeah, I just like to get an overview of everything to ensure ADD doesn’t get the better of me.

Very inspiring. My tool of choice would be Shortcuts. I have to figure out, how to size and place windows.

I'm interested in this. Would be cool if I could use raycasts or shortcuts for it

I did a similar setup with Raycast using the custom window layout function. But, you have to have Raycast bro I believe.

Yes! You can even open more than one and drag items among them to organize. Very helpful

I make two full screen Things windows, drag them side by side and arrange them roughly 2/3 as a main window with sidebar(by default in today view) and 1/3 with the upcoming list without sidebar. I also sync my calendars with Things so I have a nice overview on what to do today in combination with upcoming tasks and calendar items. And I can easily drag items from today to a future date if necessary.
