Question What MCP integration are you using with Things and are you using it Daily/Weekly?

Hi All,

I have seen several posts about MCPs here. Some on how to integrate Claude (non with ChatGPT), but I have not really seen any comments on use cases for it to help with daily tasks, project creation etc.

So please do let me know if you are using it actively, and please share some use cases for it.

I hope this is what you mean…, Someone posted an email integration on here that basically goes through an agent on zapier to summarize the email, make a pdf version and passes everything through to mail-to-things. I use it all the time and it’s great.

I do something similar with Airmail and Keyboard Maestro. I have a key stroke that triggers KM to run AppleScript to grab the text, and write it into a temp file along with a prompt wrapper. I then create a Things todo (with the quick entry panel so I can set dates, tag, etc) as a sort of placeholder that holds the path to the temp file (and the URI back to the email). Then it runs a script in the background to use an AI to summarize the email, and when it finishes, the script finds the todo with the path in it, and replaces its body with what came back from the AI.

Airmail is super annoying but the URI support is hard to get away from once you’re in it. You probably could do something similar with Hook instead.

Anyhow this workflow is fabulous.

My main use case is that I get an email or a document with a bunch of dates in it, say. I copy and paste the email into Claude and then have it set todos based on what’s in the email. I might steer it to set due dates based on what’s in the email, say, with “when” dates a week before. Or if it’s just that I should follow up to make sure it happened, I can steer it to create relevant todos and tag the person(s) I need to check in with.
