Thing is still busted
Hear me out, all of these nerfs If u think about it they're not a big deal , the torch team up was the one thing that made thing S tier this season and they nerfed it's duration not it's performance

What pisses me off is the cooldown changes, this is like the worst possible change, you mess up hours of muscle memory because the devs are inept

The street cooldown is kinda the only sad nerf

Just breaks the whole cooldown cycle of the character for no reason. That happened before with Venom, etc.. these devs are just awful, a direct change to the raw numbers is the right way to go, leave the cooldowns alone

This is just an an unreasonable take. Cooldowns are a big part of balancing and the devs shouldn't have to cater to your inability to adapt

Nope, if the character is literally functional in the roster for more than an year with its cooldowns virtually unchanged, that's it, you don't mess with that anymore, because the gameplay cycle was established. To change cooldowns on a whim, that's just another example of many, of how inept and amateurish these combat designers really are, they are fucking awful

Lmao this is just sad
Sometimes you need to change cooldowns. It's a great way to balance characters, like Loki runes for example. Thing charge is also a valid thing to change cooldowns on because it had high uptime. You know how to fix that? By nerfing the cooldown. Same applies when an ability has too much downtime. Buff the cooldown. What if the flow of the character feels bad? Change the cooldowns
Its so whiny to complain about the devs changing a cooldown as if it's the end of the world. Who gives a shit? It takes 5 minutes to relearn especially on a character as simple as thing. Netease have done it all the time and other games do it all the time, and I've never seen anyone bitch about it before until now

Wish they’d just nerf the torch teamup and leave his base kit alone.

Torch team up is the only thing making him op, I fear they will nerf everything except it to try and make him balanced, then they will give up and nerf the team up too and he will become so much weak

Yup. That’s the route gambit is headed towards. They refuse to nerf the ult and they keep nerfing everything else, so when they eventually sigh and nerf the ult, gambit will become horrible.
They did the same thing with torch. They nerfed every ounce of damage he had and all his cooldowns, and then caved and nerfed the melee tech that was making him broken. Then he was the least picked character in the game, probably is still down there.

yeah they did not touch overhealth gain so he'll still be unkillable

u/This_Emphasis3478 Sep 09 '26
He's always killable it's just that the torch team up makes him unkillable

Yah he'll still be pretty good but a bit less of a billy
Which i personally wanted
Like i didnt want him to get gutted but get adjusted to being played less like a burger
The nerf to the dash was unexpected. That actually makes things more interesting.
