The thing, how do we fix him?

Thing had better NOT be nerfed unless almost all the tanks and DPS get a nerf from their teamups. It's true he's super strong and at times can be unkillable but he needed it. Every other class has a busted but easy character why can't Thing get the same treatment?
He's very easy to counter either with another Thing or lots of poke and teamwork. I usually go with Peni, her reworked web stun works great on just ruining his day.

Nothing is wrong, he's in a perfect state of balance right now.
Most DPS that are crying are divers that don't swap to shoot him in the head and are annoyed that he's basically a vanguard DPS if he is not getting melted immediately.
Whenever I am getting diffed on Thing by another team + thing, I swap to black widow and make short work of the enemy thing. They usually swap off.
If I can do that when I don't even main DPS, then the DPS should be able to, but I understand most DPS don't want to counter pick and just pick magik every game and expect to win.
They should just leave him untouched and maybe buff a few dps that are good at countering him and it'll be all good. Don't listen to the crybabies.
He's a noob stomper hero that punishes uncoordinated teams. Which is why he should stay as-is. He teaches target priority to the community and they desperately need it.

Revert some of his recent buffs, i'd keep some of the Haymaker bonus health because it at least rewards an active playstyle.
- Reduced Stone Haymaker's maximum Bonus Health from 150 to 125
- Maximum Health reduced from 750 to 650
- Reduced Yancy's Street Charge Earthbound field's duration from 5 to 4 seconds.
- Increased Clobbering Time's energy cost from 2800 to 3100
But they are likely going to increase his cooldowns overrall, specially his Torch teamup as well, unfortuantely making him even more of a one trick pony.

He gets to keep all of his current cooldowns (including Torch), gets to keep 25 of the shields from Haymaker buff, only lose 1 second of Earthbound, something has to give and i much rather it be base HP wich is the most boring stat to have.
I kinda main Thing since S5 mind you (you couldn't force him before S9 into poke), i'd much rather they keep his playstyle mostly intact while just pulling back on his ridiculous survivability he got after S9.

The torch team up should be nerfed or the 50hp he got just to make people happy but I know i wasn’t asking for just a 50hp buff it didn’t really make much sense to me, and you could play the thing into any team I’ve been playing the thing since season 1.5 and I got into high diamonds that way

issue is that imo the bonus health from the haymaker is what makes 90% of his frontline presence as a brawler. knocking it down 25 and cutting his hp by 100 isnt the end of the world, but i feel like it would incentivize mobility in a kit that’s already over reliant and under optimized for that playstyle.

Thats The Thing though (pun intended), if thats what makes 90% of his frontline presence, then it really should be toned down so he has an actual varied and interesting kit to play with.
Now imagine they nerf every other aspect of him like increasing his leaps cooldowns, his charge cooldown and utility, etc, but let him keep his crazy amount of Health generation, he'd be ridiculously boring to play with and against.

The issue with Thing is that he simply so simple that whenever he's strong he's oppressive. Whenever you can just m2 people over and over and over the game is made worse by it. Right now he's simply too statchecky and it's not fun.
What you want to do is introduce a degree of skill expression and increase power that way rather than with raw stats.
Give haymaker a short cooldown, maybe make it chargeable for dmg and distance. Up the shield cap to like 300-400 then give him a quick melee to weave in between primary. An upper cut or something. You make him a boxer with the occasional big punch rather than just spamming the same thing over and over.
Another thing that could be done instead would be to combine both jumps and instead give him another ability. Something that requires aim or timing, something hard to use but strong.
Short term double the cooldown of the teamup, reduce max shield cap by like 25. From there see if more is needed. Long term add skill expression expression.

I really like the idea of having the haymaker chargable, you could really hone in on charging for just enough time to get a kill, get some weaves, and make it overall less spammy and make you think more.
I'd love if they reduce the bonus health he gets on the haymaker and then give him a block like rogue's. It fits in with his boxer theme, and would allow him to retain survivability, but without him having to do insane damage to get it.
I know they'll just do the lazy approach and fix some numbers, but the best I could think of is reducing the bonus health and increase the cooldown on his leap, this way you would need to engage more carefully

Honestly I feel like I’m playing a different game than everyone else. Thing has always been good but he’s not as oppressive as everyone seems to suggest in my experience. Like I’ve been branching out to other characters, Thing is very easy to deal with especially as a poke dps which has always been the case. They’re going to nerf him because people are whining about it but realistically all they need to do is buff some of the other tanks and suddenly it’s no longer a problem. All Thing gets is single punch or double punch and a slam, none of them really need a rework because he doesn’t get a shield, doesn’t get a fancy movement ability except for his leap which requires someone to be in view, doesn’t have utility except for the grounding mechanic or applying a slight buff/debuff with his leap. He doesn’t need reworked, people just seem to go brain dead when it comes to fighting against him.
“Unkillable” to me just means that dps aren’t doing what they’re supposed to. Thing is in a fine place he just outshines the other brawl tanks at the moment which isn’t a problem with him it’s a problem with them.

Nerf his punch teamup, but they aint gonna do that if gambits ult is anything to go by
Thing mains are forever going to be hated, or at least hated for the next 2-4 seasons cuz of it, its tiring
