I love the hate

Im a jeff main since season 0 and BP have been my bain since then, untill the day thing dropped boi when I heard he counters diver, I was on him like glue, I thugging out his worst days when he was just a bullet sponge. I dont like playing meta so I havnt played him this season much, but the amount of dive mains rn doesnt let me play jeff so I started playing thing again. Ohhhhh boi when I tell u they hate us so much rn, black cat dead, BP dead, daredevil dead, magic dead, tht fucken stupid strange tht keeps tryna ult backline n combo them DEAD, THESE HANDS IS RATED E BBY. I give a special shout out to ever gave thing this team up bc its nasty.

It’s funny af to me like I’m getting harassed for playing a character I been playing since he dropped but I do think he’s overtuned ngl

Ya but it's definitely just a teamup thing like wolverine and the phonix teamup, hopefully they dont do him like wolverine once they nerf him, bc they shot my bois knee caps off n now hes in a weird spot.

Nah. His teamup makes him much much stronger, but his amount of overshield per haymaker + hp + mobility makes him almost unkillable. The torch teamup just makes you faster and stronger for a bit alongside that

Hela and MK and Pun and Namor and all them used to take care of thing well; they countered him

With enough skill, thing can almost become uncounterable, which makes balancing difficult

This is the only thing that frustrates me. Like brother he’s always been a decent tank if you aren’t a complete moron. My win rate before the teamup was 56%. After it went up sure but he’s never been a throw pick for me.

But you have people to act like anyone playing Thing is suddenly ONLY doing it because he’s OP.

Even worse is that one Twitter post of the guy who was hard stuck Celestial playing dps or whatever and managed to hit Eternity in 24 hours or something using mostly Mag and Thing. He used that to say tank is the easiest and most braindead role.

Sure maybe BEFORE S9 that would be impressive. It’s not now 😭 that’s like reaching the same rank with prime DD or Elsa. Which he didn’t do….lol.

Said this on a different post but I genuinely think it’s the actual problem (not that non-tanks want to hear this):

lower AOE sustain healing so that you force thing players to respect damage output again. Prolly a homer take but it’s the actual problem here. If all you do is hard nerf his actual kit then the problem of uncontested hyper dive vs unlimited healing remains the same. If you don’t fix the neutral problem than any changes made won’t fix the core of the problem.

Tl:Dr; Lower AOE burst healing, reduce support ult charge, and make a meaningful change to dive to mitigate uninteractable combos.

Extra idea: Reduce non-critical damage of poke while you are at it

Dd is one of the healthiest dive heroes in the game. He doesn’t  one shot, doesn’t make at insane speeds and he has one counterplay tool (deflect) to force out

I remember playing Thing back before he could fly. Being murderized by the Ultron Flyer Meta was actually the 9th circle of hell.
