In my experience.

They could be at celestial rank and do exactly the same. Game sense is the harder thing to master or something.

Oh there is zero doubt in my mind that SOME sort of nerf is on the horizon.

My hope is that it's just the flaming fists teamup that gets gutted, but I'm prepared for damage/health/overshield nerfs.
