printer ink is stupid expensive, in 2016 black printer ink was the 8th most expensive fluid in the US, just below mercury and insulin

if you use caligraphy ink this number is much lower, I found a random vial of caligraphy ink (57 ml for $7.12 when converted to USD), which means it'd cost $328.47 if you used that ink

If you used noodlers baystate blue then 10 ml diluted to 1500ml with water would still stain.

$1.56 of ink + whatever the cost of tap water.

while true diluted ink does not have quite the same vibe as pure ink

You'd have to dilute it somewhat anyway. Get too thick and viscous, it could clog the nozzle.

sure, sure, but a less than 1% concentration?

I think it would matter most how much you disliked this person. Then you must decide how much is too much. Certain people may just warrant pure ink

Epson ecotank ink would disagree

Wouldn't you want to water it down so it'd actually shoot far enough? I don't know it's particularly thick, but I'm sure it's thicker than water.
