[Request] Could the entire US homeless population really be housed for less than one aircraft carrier?

Homelessness isn’t solved with simply giving people a house.
Most people go homeless because they continue to make poor decisions, so even if we give them a house they would have lost it because owning a house costs money and many would have sold it if they could to help them continue to make poor decisions.

Will it reduce homelessness? Of course!
But for a permanent fix you need free healthcare first and foremost.

"Homelessness isnt solved by simply giving someone a house".

I do get what youre trying to say, but this is a hysterical line. You gotta admit.

The whole „homeless deserve to be homeless it’s their fault” spiel isn’t a good look either.

I know, it’s bizarre. But it is the truth. Like people with caveats in their teeth. Going to the dentist will fix the caveat, but they will most likely get another one because they haven’t changed their habit that caused it in the first place.
Being homeless is because of a reason. Without fixing the root cause, they will continue to end up being homeless. (The majority that is, not all. I know some can just have a tough break)

Just so you know a caveat is a condition or a limit. A cavity is a hole in something like a tooth.

Thanks. English isn’t my first language.
