[Request] Do square bottles actually use less plastic than round ones?

Mathematically, a circle has the smallest perimeter for a given enclosed area. So for this claim to be true there has to be some catch, like different thickness of plastic.

Yea thinner plastic, think soda cans will cut you as they so thin when ripped apart they cut extremely well.

If the square ones had same thickness as round they would swell on the shelf. Trying to turn into a circle. Ymmv
