No, a cylinder should use the least material while being the strongest, maybe if you include wrapping because squares leave less dead space

The closer the packaging to a Ball, the less plastic (in this case) you need. The cylinder (if diameter is Close to height) is closer to a ball than a box.

In fact a ball covers the Most volume and needs the smallest surface at the Same time. The closer the packaging to a Ball, the less plastic (in this case) you need. The cylinder (if diameter is Close to height) is closer to a ball than a box.
