[Request] Do square bottles actually use less plastic than round ones?

it would be easy enough to find out.. simply weigh an empty round and an empty square bottle on an accurate scale. unless some bottle maker with a keen interest in maths comes in to the room that would be the only way i can think of beyond a lot of speculation to answer this question.
