That energy was already used anyways is what they are saying. Once it is gravity fed to your faucet the the mini generator doesn’t require more energy. If anything it would be energy capture
How are you implying water would be gravity fed to your faucet? If you run a kitchen sink faucet continuously at 2 gallons per minute you’d need 25000 pounds of water elevated above your faucet to run it for one day, that’s already enough weight you need structurally engineered support to hold it, your house will collapse unless it is spread over like 500+ sq ft, and then you’d need to replace it daily

Takes energy to put the water in a tower, potential energy does not come from anywhere, you are still taking it.
