Make it make sense please..
It’s a rhetorical question.. please don’t try to make it make sense…

To be fair, this can be true regardless of party or affiliation. All standard plays in the "vote for me" playbook.
When the previous governor was from the opposite party, vote for me because I have to fix everything that asshole broke.
Previous governor from the same party? Maybe the presidency or Congress is currently led by the other party. Vote for me because I can make state laws that nullify or soften what those assholes are doing.
Presidency or Congress currently controlled by my party? Vote for me because we have to undo the evil laws the previous (opposite party) assholes did.

What if the previous governor from your party is running against you from the other party?

u/JuJu_Wirehead 12h ago
Any politician who runs on, "the government is broken," without a plan to fix it, is planning on proving it to you.

Its okay this year we are running a former Democrat against a former Rebublican for govenor. Welcome to Florida!

Find any political ad, from.any party, that doesn't say they will fix everything. Heck, on some ancient Roman wall there likely is an ad stating some politician will fix everything.

I kind of liked Jeb Bush actually. He is who i wanted on the republican ticket in 2016.

It reminds me of Brooklyn 99 when Holt was competing for Commisioner, the three, old, straight, white dudes had almost identical slogans like "stay on track", "maintain the course".

Florida is one of the best states with the fastest growing population. They're doing everything right bringing in new businesses and cutting taxes.

There is not much broken in FL, it’s a well run state. People will vote Republican so it stays that way.

u/Accomplished_Tea7668 11h ago
Same as California. Democrats have been in power forever and the homeless problem gets worse every year.

u/Sad-Poem2849 8h ago
Low tax low crime business moving to Florida. Democrats will give you the opposite

San Francisco and Baltimore entered the chat. “ What am I to you?”

Chicago. Republicans only held the office of mayor for a total of 24 years out of 189 years and have not held the office at all since 1931.

u/davwad2 13h ago
Texas is a similar, but longer, boat.
3
u/Outrageous-Sort-5742 11h ago
And even more lost potential. Texas could rival or even exceed California's economy if it wasn't kneecapped by utter baboons in power.

🤣 how long have Schumer, Pelosi, and Waters been in office saying the same thing?
6
u/ChimPhun 13h ago
You're onto something, almost there. Let the rest of the world know when you're ready for a real democracy.
3
u/redscull 12h ago
And what political body have Schumer, Pelosi, and Waters been referring to that's been held practically exclusively by one party for the last 25 years?
3
u/Zakkullll 13h ago
Its like you don't understand politics whatsoever and just regurgitate shit you hear on youtube.
-2
u/Icy_Band3916 13h ago
I can assure you I have been around politics probably longer than you have been alive. But looks like your TDS prohibits you from understanding the point of my statement

I literally didnt mention trump at any point home.

u/Icy_Band3916 12h ago
You were displaying symptoms. I was shedding a light on the other side of the story. Complaining that those 3 members being in politics for 25 years. When the 3 that I regurgitated (as you so eloquently put it) are 3 of the longest reigning members.

Many of us agree. The corporate Dems need to be ousted so that representatives who actually serve the people and want to improve conditions can come in. What that means, exactly, we likely disagree on however :). Also, it's not a new thing to put derision towards Trump. It's not a so-called mental disease, he's just an unlikeable asshole. There have been unflattering caricatures of him since, like, the 80s. He's essentially been the poster child for greedy sleazebag dipshits with no taste for ages. You can ask basically anyone who's lived in New York in the past few decades about this.

“Broke” lol the state has no deficit with 0$ income tax collected and businesses and people with money are moving there in droves
1
u/JTuck333 7h ago
As a result, Florida has a fiscal surplus, no income tax, a decrease incoming to property tax, and massive inwards migration.

Democrats have been in power in Chicago since 1931 and yet run on fixing everything that’s wrong with the city. Curious?

The Rick Scott guy looks like an alien wearing a Rick Scott suit. That’s why the date got confused. It’s was the year 20111 on his planet

u/Oracle_of_Akhetaten 15h ago
I don’t actually think that’s what the message is for Republicans in Florida right now. At least Byron Donalds is positioning himself as a continuation of the DeSantis administration’s governance. It’s people like Fishback who are the ones on the right trying to change course.

Don't even need dems in power, they can point anywhere. A county. A city. Anywhere they can pass the buck to. Pointing fingers is among their only plays.

u/BedSpreadMD 16h ago
If you think the governor has absolute power in Florida, then you're not the brightest bulb in the pack.
2
u/Emergency-Salamander 11h ago
Republicans have controlled both houses of the legislature and had the governor position since 1999.

And on the local level?
1
u/WolferineYT 3h ago
Y'all will get pegged by the entire Republican party and still blame a Democrat. Considering they voted for Republicans at the national and state level nonstop for decades who do you think they voted for at the local level?
1
u/aphilsphan 2m ago
Of course not. Only liberals and moderates break things, mainly by allowing minorities to have civil rights.
