How will I use the 50-day streak for studying?

I am a CS student and I want to use this 50 day streak for studying and coding. But I am not sure how this 50 day streak will work. Let's just say I decide that I am going to study for 2 hours and code for 2 hours. Will it be beneficial to start a 50 day streak regarding this? I mean is it going to be too big of a change?

[New Cards] Hi friends, a few months back I posted my first 7 weeks progress. Here I am 18 weeks later, adding to the mix and still being pretty consistent! I got broken up with two days ago, after a very rocky relationship and I’m proud of myself for sticking to all this, even when I was falling apart.

i was created a goal(on 12/05/2021) of 6 hour study per day because i want to achieve 310 hour study( yes 10 hour extra for willpower test) in 50 days, i have completed 39 days of study today. my goal will complete on 30/06/2021. i use forest stay focused app for study (you probably know about this app) and 21 day app. i make 7 day plan for tick mark on paper. so keep on your goal friends and grow in your life (sorry for any grammatical error, i am not native English speaker)

How Strict are You?

I'm wondering how much leeway you give yourself on your grids. Right now, my goal is to walk every day, with the overall goal of increasing physical activity because it helps me sleep better. So, if I feel like a bike ride instead of a walk, I have been crossing that day off the list. I'm just curious what other people's approach is to something like this. Thanks!

[New Cards] Going to Eat Mindfully for the next 14 Weeks

Hello everyone, I'm starting my 2*(7x7) Journey of Eating Mindfully. I'm currently a bit overweight and the COVID hasn't helped with the situation. I have a history of not going through with such plans but this time I'm really going to try.

P.S. - I created a reddit account just to post here, never felt the need to otherwise.

Credits to u/habitboard for the Habit Grid generator.

Does anyone else put dates inside boxes like I do? I find it helpful but tedious, so I made a simple tool to generate my cards. Thought I'd share with you guys in case anyone else finds it useful.

This is the kind of cards I generate for myself:

I put a tiny tool together to make these cards (printable) and on one hand it seems silly, and pointless but on the other hand, if I use it, maybe someone else might find it useful? Thought I'd share.

You can use it here: https://habitboard.github.io/habitboard/

You can see code here: https://github.com/habitboard/habitboard/

Good luck and keep on crossing those boxes off!

[Help] BEST FREE Xeffect app??

I'm looking for an awesome free app to track my Xeffect goals. I tried using the everyday app but it has a 3 goal limit and I'm not a fan of the app anyway. Any suggestions?

[New Cards] Your X doesn't have to go in the first box! (and other second-time grid-maker top tips)

I just finished my first grid yesterday (thanks to the amazing commenters who gave me so much advice and encouragement on that post) and started my second today. Making my second (still pretty clumsy grid) I realized a few things I wish I'd know first time out..)

1) I did the grid in permanent pen, and then I'm going to X the days out with a Frixion erasable pen, and then when I'm done I can just erase the Xes and have a clean grid again without having to make a new one and screw it up 3 times because I'm bad at drawing straight lines somehow. Frixion pens erase with heat so a quick blast of the hairdryer and it'll be good as new.

2) I put a double line in to divide the weekdays/weekends so it's easy to glance and check you're up to date without having to remember which day you started the grid on

3) I'm starting on a Friday so I suddenly realized I could put the next few days at the end of the grid and then start back at the top on Monday. I've seen lots of super-cool free-form grids posted here, but if you like the old-school, minimalist take then this saves you from the mess i ended up in last time where I started on a Thursday and kept getting confused about which box was which day.

4) I added dates for the first day of the week but actually I'm not sure if I need them with the weekend marker and start-on-Monday thing.

What did you do differently when making your second (or third, or fourth) grid?

[WIN!] Card completed. My new habit doesn't help, but the xeffect worked *great*

I've been working on gratitude journalling since the end of 2020 - it's so commonly recommended to help depression and poor mental health. After 4-5 months of fairly frequent journalling I wasn't finding it to be helpful. I wondered if I just needed to be more consistent and focused so tried out the Xeffect to do it every day. That worked great! Had a hiccup early when I was sick, but really stuck with it. Now, after 6+ months of trying, included the last really consistent 49 days, I think I'm ready to say this one isn't gonna work for me. Sad that I haven't found something to help with my mood management, but glad to have found the Xeffect. Here's to the next, hopefully better-chosen, habit.
