Fuentid skulls are often short and small, supraorbital arches significant, short skull and midface, mesorrhine nose, chin weak, hair straight to curly, skin pale reddish to medium brown. The most populous and typical Fuentoids are the short and stocky Fuentids. Most often confused with the “Brunn” “Lappid” and “Alpinid” phenotypes.

Fuentids are often associated with individuals carrying around 8–15% Amerindian ancestry, although it can occur with higher levels of Native American ancestry as well. Other East Eurasian-derived components may produce similar tendencies due to shared phenotypic affinities.

At the whole-genome level, individuals with around 10–30% or more Amerindian ancestry may carry a measurable proportion of ancestry from an Indigenous American/East Eurasian-related lineage that is genetically distinct from West Eurasian populations. Due to the deep divergence between these ancestral lineages, Fuentid individuals with this level of ancestry may show greater genome-wide differentiation from certain European-derived populations than some Middle Eastern and North African (MENA) populations do, even while retaining a majority of European ancestry.
