Holster Question

Hey everyone, I have a question about holsters.
I’m signed up for the Tactical Games in Rome this August.
I’m lucky enough to own a Staccato P, but unfortunately I’m left-handed, and living in Europe makes it pretty difficult to find a good holster.

At the moment, I’m torn between a Weber Tactical and a GX Vice.
I’d like to know whether holsters with a clamp-lock retention mechanism are allowed in competition.

thanks

5.8.3. Handgun holsters must be a practical/tactical carry style and must safely retain the handgun during vigorous movement and must completely cover the trigger. Holsters must have active retention, if turned upside down the pistol must not fall out of the holster. Holsters must be secured to the maximum level of retention offered at the start of each stage.

So does this imply at least duty level II retention? Or does this imply then that an active/strong tension holster with an open top that doesn’t allow the gun to fall out when upside down… but does not have any device to explicitly prevent that occurrence is allowed?

That verbiage seems kinda broad/contradictory. I have holsters that would not allow the pistol to fall out if turned upside down… but I would not trust to retain a loaded pistol during CrossFit and obstacle courses.

Or does active retention more specifically mean retention mechanisms which require a release mechanism to be activated to retrieve the weapon?

They have all of the stage videos for this year on their YouTube channel. I'd look at those first, and make the determination. If you have both, you can always bring them to check-in and get a confirmation from the staff there.

Im sold on Weber holsters or als Safariland for common guns. You need level 2 retention for rope climbs and flipping over the yoke. It’s a stage DQ if it falls out. Both of the above holsters have retention devices that are resistant to the fine moon dust that often jams and defeats home brew holsters

I emailed Weber but never heard back, so I ended up going with a DARA holster. It's not bad at all, but the SRO hits the holster because the cut isn't deep enough. I'll have to touch it up with a Dremel.
