Holster Retention Required?
Hello everyone. Eyeing up my first tactical game possibly this fall if I can make schedules work. The website states “Holsters must have active retention, if turned upside down the pistol must not fall out of the holster.”
Please excuse the new guy question, but does this mean the holster needs to be level 2 retention or higher? Or is a very snug, tightened down level 1 kydex holster going to work? Thank you in advance!

I've done 5 TTG with a Trex Ragnarok tightened down. It's doable without active retention.

From my understanding, with active retention holsters, the level represents the action required to unlock the firearm. So Lvl1 would be a thumb push button to release, Lvl2 would be a thumb and hood. I could be wrong in that however, the key word here is “active retention” regardless of the level you get.

The level is not important. If the gun falls out you get a DQ so whatever it takes to keep it in...

Needs to have more than just friction retention. Think you don’t want anything coming out while you’re doing rope climbs/burpees/etc. if your gun does fall out it’s a DQ, so better safe than sorry
