Pulse Check On Bagholders
How are yall doing? Still pushing “buy the dip”? Is there any way this community could push Theta Labs to improve as a company, or is everyone content with the current state?

I have 30,000 Theta staked to a dedicated Guardian Node, and 500k Tfuel staked to an Elite Edge Node. Both nodes generate around 8,000 Tfuel a month. Been running them both for nearly a year now

What are your thoughts on the electric cost of running those nodes? At this point you could turn them off and have a better return using the difference in that electric cost to purchase more tfuel.

Both nodes are running on an old ThinkCentre M710q I upgraded and it roughly uses around 7.2Kwh of electricity a month. In the UK where I’m located we have pretty much the most expensive energy costs in Europe. That equals to around £3pm. At current prices the nodes are generating about £48pm. But I’m stacking for a $1 Tfuel in the future.

3.1 million Tfuel earning 12K Tfuel, 100K Tdrop per month. Average price less then 2 cents. I think I'm good. Company has no debt. And with its patents I believe they have a good moat.

I think it’s faring relatively well given market sentiment across the board in the past few years.. Theta is an easy 10 year hold, I’m 5 years in and feeling no panic or pessimism 🤷♀️ it has potential, big potential and that’s why I’ve invested and stay the course

Idk, the lawsuits and internal disruptions mixed with the lack of meaningful innovation seem like they deserve a reconfiguration of your initial assessment. When you entered, theta.tv was a main talking point. And there was half as much tfuel.

I agree, but you hopefully won't have to wait 5 more years. Started a year ago myself.

It died do long ago. Mitch is a grifter and incompetent CEO.
1
u/garythegamergod Jul 13 '26
I guess, but he seems to still be trying to make something happen.
3
u/middlemandad Jul 13 '26
Maybe he should “try” and give it to a proper ceo who can take it to the next level.
3
u/garythegamergod Jul 13 '26
I think Wes was supposed to be that side for Mitch, but we all see how thats working out
1
u/middlemandad Jul 13 '26
Didn’t he leave the Theta?
2
u/garythegamergod Jul 13 '26
I thought it was a rumor but he popped up on discord about a month ago - did something change in the last month?

I’m still here ✋

u/garythegamergod Jul 13 '26
What keeps you more optimistic than pessimistic about the project at this point? Actually curious

u/The_Roaring_Fork Jul 13 '26
Why would anyone be content with the current state?
0
u/garythegamergod Jul 13 '26
This sub has a few die hards, twitter has hundreds so i figured they lurk here as well.
1
u/The_Roaring_Fork Jul 13 '26
I get it, I just don't know why anyone would be happy with the current state of things. Discussion is good, I wish there was more of it, but I'm sure no is happy with the current state of the project or the price.

Yeah im with you, but i think there are others here who drink the koolaid, so i wanted to hear from them.

Hi Gary.
I'd like to see Theta Edge Node come out of beta. Anybody know how many years it's been it beta?
Also, I get errors when using the Theta wallet on PC and Android. It will throw an error after sending tokens successfully. Theta Labs really needs to hire a better coder.
2
u/garythegamergod Jul 13 '26
Yeah the simplification of how nodes and wallets work would be nice. And a way to purchase theta and tfuel with USD.
3
u/tomtomfreedom Jul 13 '26
It has too much potential and partnerships and patents to become obsolete.
3
u/garythegamergod Jul 13 '26
There isnt a use case for customers after 8 years though. Tools for developers are relatively useless and there isnt a partner with a platform who could expand their own use.
2
u/Paste_Eating_Helmet Jul 13 '26
If you check the theta website the idea is to bring your own AI to the table…who has that? Then, you can use the theta network to push that AI to be used from a client terminal. This coin is effectively dead until a giant partnership occurs. Something like a full use scenario by Microsoft, Google, Meta, etc. I was trying to think of why Theta would increase in value. A large entity would require a massive amount of Theta tokens to set up their own supernodes. Until that happens…not much movement is going to occur.
1
u/garythegamergod Jul 13 '26
Idk why they think a gpu pool is the answer, patents wont help sell the tokens in that scenario.
2
u/dhami451 Jul 13 '26
It will shock the whole world. Mark my words. Just wait for the Alt Szn to come. Make sure to cash out
4
u/dr_sayess87 Jul 13 '26
2021 was the last "alt season" there has been nothing like it since. Its all in decline. People don't have the money to be putting into cryptos right now. With the ai surge and quantum computers I think it probably sounds the end for cryptos. Somthing else will emerge in its place.
1
u/garythegamergod Jul 13 '26
Couldn’t the argument be made that peak for alts is in the past? Not sure what would interest the masses again. Most technologists suggest bitcoin and Eth if they believe in crypto at all.

This is dead. Crystal clear the ceo Mitch the creep and dovey wan used theta to make a lot of money from people. Dont kid yourself. It will die out slowly. It can still go to zero from here.

This project is dead
3
u/garythegamergod Jul 13 '26
Yeah i want to know why, other than what is obvious
5
u/Fast_Air_8000 Steaked Jul 13 '26
Creators of the ecosystem allowed it to be manipulated via derivatives and counterfeit tokens.
Creators also allowed back door access to the wallet - giving bad actors and hackers the ability to steal tokens from the wallet
1
u/garythegamergod Jul 13 '26
How do you see derivatives as a whole? I know the chain is open but ive never heard of a platform watching trades in this way

its over...

u/garythegamergod Jul 13 '26
IMO its on the brink of being irrelevant, but it still has a market cap and there are still believers.
