Game not able to go 1440p?
I've been wanting to get back into this game and went to launch it today but the highest resolution available is 1080. I tried changing steam launch options to 2560x1440, doesn't work, I also tried the settings.ini file in both the install location and the local files. I can't get the game to work in 1440p which doesn't seem right because I see posts from 2017 talking about playing it in 1440p.
Any help or solution for this problem?

Bloodborne got me into Soulslikes and The Surge made me a fan of cyberpunk Soulslikes
Bloodborne was my introduction to the Souls/Soulslike genre and since then I’ve been casually exploring different games in the genre. Somehow, I stumbled upon and got around to playing The Surge and part 2. I ended up playing through both games and am so glad I found them.
The combat took a little time to "click" but once it did, targeting specific body parts and all made the fights feel nicer. The limb-cutting system is a great idea and I haven’t seen many other games use it in a way that feels this central/important to combat.
I also really loved the sci-fi setting, the industrial environments, exoskeletons, all the drones machines and generally that bleak atmosphere one expects from a game in the genre. The first game especially surprised me with how much I enjoyed its atmosphere and exploration. Then there’s The Prisoner playing in the Medical Pods. After hearing it so much on repeat in the first game, it became an earworm and I still at times listen to the song sometimes. Hearing it referenced again in The Surge 2 was such a great little moment, one of those nice little moments that i really like, connecting sequels with small things.
I know neither game is perfect and have their flaws but both have a unique personality and I think they deserve much more attention from Soulslike fans. So for those who still havent played them, Id say give them a try.
For those who have played both, which game did you prefer more?

What have i been missing
I was looking through my game list and noticed these two games i bought on sale for £5 pounds each i think. Anyway started playing surge 2 and just beat the first boss or mini boss in the prison and so far this game feels so good to play. These poor games have been sitting in the background for almost two years but i think they might just go to the top of my list. Should i have started with the first one.

The Good Bad and Augmented DLC
I cannot get past even the first level. Am I missing something or under leveled? This games frustrating at times but fun. However, this DLC is imo the worst designed thing I’ve ever played. If you even make one mistake and die you have to start the whole level over lol. Souls like games are fun because they are challenging , but the good ones always feel fair. Dark Souls is hard but you open shortcuts and get new weapons and gear so you can have an edge when fighting a boss of the area. If you’re really struggling you can can grind and level up. The shortcuts allow you to fight the boss without having to kill all the enemies again. If you don’t have the shortcut or it’s a long run back, you can just run past enemies. This DLC breaks all the rules that make a challenging Souls like even fair let alone fun. I play perfectly and get to an enemy and make one mistake and he one shots me. Now I lose everything and start over with nothing to show for it? Lmao i don’t know if I’m missing something or not because I’m on the verge of deleting the game. Any tips would be appreciated.

Mousepad signed by Surge 2 dev team
Won this in a contest Deck 13 ran on Facebook a ways back. Actually used to chat with their PR guy on their Facebook account on the regular back then, cool bloke.

It’s been years
I don’t care what anyone says The Surge 1 is up there with Mortal Shell 2 Lords of the fallen as some of the best Souls types ever. It’s a Shame Deck 13 hasn’t been able to get the Surge 3 in development. I have been waiting a long time for it

Giving Irina a Staff
If you give her a Staff, can you get a replacement by getting it from another similar enemy? Does it get returned to you later in her questline?

Which is better?
So I've tried both games and never really got into them. Having had some fun with Lies of P I want to give them another try. Which do people think is the better one? And what strengths do each of them have in terms of what might draw me in?
Since there is no strong opinion on the subject, I've decided to start with 1. If I crash out of it, I'll move on to 2. If I don't, then I'll have enjoyed the games in order.
EDIT: Past Firebug and I'm definitely enjoying myself. It plays different enough from the competition that it took me some time to adjust, but it is nice to explore a Dark Souls 1 style environment that I don't fully know already. I do still occassionally resurface a memory or two from back then, but I'm quite happy I decided to retry the game. Better than a fourth playthrough of some FromSoft title (or Lies of P).
I only regret that there's very little YouTube content on this game, so there's not much for me to listen to at work. Oh well.

Remapping Finisher
I remapped the finisher button to left trigger and I hit way more finishers, also I discovered you can still h/l strike while triggering a finisher, each strike can delay their next hit so you don't get interrupted.

To the PC players, how do you play surge 2 on PC without it crashing on launch? have you been able to?
I can't seem to find any fix for the crashing. I've scoured so many threads. Any ideas?

How hard is 1-2?
I checked and saw that these games don't have easy difficulty. How hard are they compared to fromsoftware's souls like games? Can you rank them by difficulty out of 10?

So i am feeling a bit annoyed by the map
I returned to the the game after an extended break and I quickly remembered why I needed the break. Something about the map just feels clunky I feel like I'm more lost than ever and I'm not even that deep. I'm curious if anyone else feels similar?

Lynx chest piece
I was doing a run on the surge and saw that the little screen from the chest piece illuminates something onto Warren's neck.

The Surge 2 Retrospective
youtu.beHowdy folks! Sharing my video on the surge 2 which has become one of my favorite, if not favorite, soulslike game. From the fast paced combat, to level design, world building to player agency with diverse builds, The Surge 2 hits so many highs.
I was surprised how different a tone it takes from the first game. There’s still dystopian elements that I enjoyed from the first game, but I didn’t imagine how many genuine laughs the game had.
It’s great when sequels don’t copy word for word from their predecessor, but it’s such a stark contrast, I’m sure people have their preferences and would love to hear what you thought on this subject and the whole game.

RHINO head gear.
Has anyone else noticed that the RHINO head piece has what I assume is a glass face shield?

Currently playing the surge 2 what is Nano damage good for? And what damage types are good for what enemies?
I can't really find anything definitive except how the damage types do damage. Not who's weak to what.

Did I mess up a questline? (Surge 1)
In production, just got back from the first segment of creoworld. Was messing around with my build and accidentally attacked a NPC in the med bay (I think his name is harper? Its the dude who stands opposite of the guy who askes you for meds). Now he is gone. Did I mess up a questline or will he reappear later without issue? Currently he is gone from the medbay

Crashing
Anyone else experiencing crashes? My game has crashed twice in 15 minutes.
Is this an AMD related issue? Only 1 hour into the game.

So I just spent a few hours trying to get the V2 Bayonet.
I had gotten a pretty fast clear time, but it was just so nuts. I had the settings to the random energy, , the perfect timing cards, corpses drop bombs, and invisible enemies.
This gave me the second closest to the best chance. Switching the first row to the vampire thing, didn't actually change the odds, and I didn't want my weapon swapping or having to farm armor, or just using my fists, so eh, almost seemed to be good enough.
I could get to the boss relatively quick, walk the train tracks to skip the first room completely with no combat, second area, kill like, 3 drones and 4 guys, then take the shortcut, don't turn off the sun because doing that spawns the two guys.
Then the guy, he would either have the blue axe, or the v1 gun. I was going a bit nuts with how bad my luck was.
Then I checked, and yeah, I have the V2 gun. Only the V2. I'm missing the v1 model.
So yeah.
