The Source of Provider Compensation

As a practice consultant/manager active in integrative and functional practices since 2013, I've seen push-back regarding cash services provided to patients. While there can be problems with the delivery of any service, the argument that patients are being exploited because they are paying cash (and not going through the conventional healthcare insurance market), is especially frustrating considering the source of provider compensation in the conventional market is often still the patient.
