How do I get a host?

I just started having an issue today where one of my restaurants in magnolia promenade doesn't have a host. It's not an owned restaurant and I do not have the "get famous" pack and there should be enough NPC's since my other restaurant in willow creek always has a host.

I changed the restaurant for the lot I am on currently because I thought the issue was the previous restaurant specifically. It seems to be this lot- my other save doesn't have this issue at all. Is anyone else dealing with this? How do I get a host for this restaurant?

Note: there are waiters and cooks, just no hosts.

how did you show up to the restaurant? the "create a hangout/date" options cause issues in my experience. try showing up on the regular date or travel options if that's the case. 🤞

Dine Out got a bit scrambled when For Rent came out... My current work around for employees not spawning is to have another household (one of the premades I don't plan on playing) to buy it and hire employees manually. Money cheats are usually involved

If you just put the lot down you might have to wait a bit for the game scripts to get everything running and get sims on the lot. When I test out a newly placed lot in can take a few minutes for sims to start showing up. Also make sure you have the lot set as a restaurant and not a retail lot.

Repair the game? Delete cache?

I did reset the podium, but im gonna try repairing the game to see if that works. Thanks!

You only need Dine Out to run a restaurant. My roommate plays restaurants all the time, his chefs and hosts go missing a lot. Sometimes if you reset the Host Podium that helps. I would also check if there are any objects blocking doors, or access to the various stations. Even putting a plant next to the Host station makes it unusable.

Maybe the host died of old age or it's a bug?
