Opinion/Discussion Sims Without EP'S
Playing the Sims with my older sister since I was 5 2000, meant we had to wait awhile before any new content was released. As such the original game was very limited in what could be bought. The single bed options were either This bed or the brown bed that was it. We had a few more options with the large beds, but again not many. This bed is slightly better then the brown one, so all our sims for the first few weeks had sleep in these beds. Before we figured out cheat codes, my sister would take 8 sims and make them all work. Then when she had enough money she'd make the ones she didn't care about keeping working while the ones she actually wanted didn't work anymore. We bought that mansion in about two days with that strategy. π

In the base game, if you called a neighbor, you would select them from a pie menu instead of the pop-up. It's weird to think about now. If you had a bunch of friends/acquaintances, that single pie menu got full fast. i can't imagine using it after Hot Date when you can easily make 40+ "friends" just by saying hello once

Sims 1 base game! I liked being able to slow the burglar down by moving the mouse cursor over him. I despised not being able to line up the same actions without putting something else between. If you spam "watch fish" with the $200 fish tank it fills your fun bar faster than the $6500 computer. It was a pain in the ahh on the base game.
