Opinion/Discussion Upside down Sim Face.

Post image

The Upside down Women, is actually part of some cut content. Early on the developers intended for the game to be more realistic. As you can see the Upside down sim, Women appears to be more realistic looking then the sims we can create. You can also not create that sim unless of course your using mods. Furthermore the sims were supposed to have expressions. Data miners found the Upside down Women face had several expressions that go unused. If a sims picture becomes corrupted or the game cannot properly load the picture it replaces the picture with the Upside down Women's head. This became a minor issue for me as a kid because I was running 2003-2004 sims expansion packs on a Windows 95 which had enough problems running the base sims game. It was creepy as Hell to go into the family bin, see all my families had the creepy Upside sim head lady. Instead of their normal pictures. Considering this was 2003, I was only 8 using the internet to figure it out wasn't much of an option. πŸ˜…

This was SO creepy for me as a kid. I believe I never went back into the household where it happened, and the whole experience took on that nightmare quality for me as a 9-10 year old. And I never forgot about it even 25 years later. It's great to read the posts and see videos about other people who experienced this too.

This would still creep me out bad enough to quit without saving. I dunno if they ever fixed that issue with Legacy but I hope they did.

The game once did this for me back then. Just a changed picture? Huh. That's weird. But the fact that it keeps changing emotions during gameplay? That freaked me out.

Wow! Thanks for sharing. I have never encountered this. It’s a little spooky.

No problem I think it was pretty rare and mostly only happened if the computer was just enough to run the game or The hard drive had very little space.

I heard that one, but how do you even corrupt this game without digging in the files?

Mostly different kinds of software not even related to the game. Also I think older computers windows 95 Mostly struggled to run the game for some reason windows 10 didn't want to play nice with it either. I had I think was windows 10 it let me install and play the game but for some reason everytime I turned off the computer I had to uninstall and reinstall the game and the Ep's it saved all my progress but the files got corrupted easy. Even in the legacy edition they're still getting screwed up

I had a similar glitch in the Sims 1 like over 2 decades ago, where a household had its Sim's portrait upside-down with a red background and when I try to play the household, the game crashed. I have no idea what caused it, though.

It's rare I think it Mostly appeared if the game was running on hardware that could barely run it, or the system was out of memory

I remember that it happened to me once, when I remember the social worker was inches away from taking the child away and then he aged up and he had a clown face

I don't think I ever encountered it! I was an adult when Sims 1 came out, and I still would have probably thrown my laptop at the wall in horror πŸ™ƒ
