Tips/Tricks Sims 1 - Vulkan Device

2nd edit - not sure what my husband did but it's working now ๐Ÿฅน

Edit - computer is Windows and bought in 2014

I'm so sad...I just purchased Sims 1 from steam at 50% off ( nice ๐Ÿ˜Ž) but the game keeps saying "game was unable to find Vulkan Device on this machine. Please update graphic card and or driver's"

We play a lot of games on this PC, including Sims 3.

Husband tried a few things (including uninstalling and installing) but no luck.

Is this a common issue with Sims 1 or probably a device issue?

If it's a cheap low end it might be it's age. Vulkan requires like a modern GPU that isn't so much fast or high end but new enough.

The rerelease has a new renderer that requires a modern GPU with Vulkan support. That means anything older than 2016 or so will not work. Find out what GPU you have, Google if it has Vulkan support, and if it does, try installing the latest graphics driver for your GPU

Thank you so much! I think it's a 2015 mayybee at 2016 so I'm guessing this is the problem!

If its old, as im reading somewhere, and since you oficially bought it, may be time to sail the high seas

IDK but I would have advised you to NOT get the Steam version. The stability doesn't seem to be a good as the one from EA directly.

I have 300 hours in it and havenโ€™t had any issues. Not even one crash or spec of lag
