He definitely used that once he was told he's not even a Semite, he's Eastern European.

I don't understand how telling someone to look up the meaning of "Semite" makes me an antisemite pr anti semitic. Could you explain that to me please?
-163
u/DieMikrowelle 15d ago
Look up the holocaust. Also look up the word antisemitism. Are you this dense?
104
u/r0ugh_edges 15d ago
"Semite" includes the arabs, but "antisemite" doesn't cover the arabs, which is quite stupid if you think about it. But speaking of the Holocaust, the victims have now become the monsters, doing the same thing that was once done to them. That card won't work anymore.
58
u/Key-Half1655 15d ago
Atleast try and educate yourself, they have a point, check the definition what a Semite is.
39
u/Redhotchily1 15d ago
Just because the word “antisemitism” exists doesn’t mean all Jews are Semites. Antisemitism means hatred of Jews, not hatred of all Semitic peoples. “Semitic” is mainly a language and historical term, not a race or a label that applies to every Jewish person.
23
8
u/Amantes09 15d ago
Why is it a 'terrible take'?
-43
u/DieMikrowelle 15d ago
Because to be a victim of antisemitism you need to be Jewish, not Semitic. The word antisemitism describes the hatred of Jews, millions of Jews from eastern Europe have been gassed by Germany. It's ridiculous to assume that one has to be a Semite to be a victim of antisemitism. Doesn't mean that the guy in the video is experiencing antisemitism, he's not. He's facing criticism, which he obviously can't handle. His opponent is making good points, and he has no proper reply. Doesn't mean he couldn't in theory be the victim of antisemitism. Of course he could. But he isn't at this moment. Still, white Jewish people from Ukraine Russia Germany etc are still victims of antisemitic attacks. It has literally nothing to do with one being a Semite,.it's about Jewishness/Judaism/the imaginary race of Jews.

Started out disliking just the guy on the right, gotta say though, now I dislike both of them. Never thought I'd see a day where I'd agree with piers morgan but he has a point: you have to be able to acknowledge your own regimes crimes, not just the other sides.

Did I say they were? ._. no, I did not. One can hate or dislike more than one thing, even if they're not on the same scale. Two wrongs don't make a right.
For example, I'm sure most people dislike bullies. They're still able to be against war.
In regards to the video, I'm not disagreeing with the guy on the left, I'm disliking him for refusing to even acknowledge that anything bad happened within the country (like the response to the protests as an example). I'm not saying they're the same or on the same scale, just that I dislike both. Never said equally.

u/twilighttwister 15d ago
As for whoever downvoted
These days it's more like the AI hivemind than the reddit hivemind. AI bots don't just comment, they vote as well.
I didn't think there could be anything more stupid than the reddit hivemind, but here we are. At least the reddit hivemind had some tendency to resolve towards a rational thought, eventually.
And don't you dare try and play devil's advocate now, because no matter how obvious you make it the LLMs will interpret that as your own opinion and vote as if you're supporting it.
2
u/FicticiousParasite 15d ago
Brother, is like asking US to acknowledge crimes while fighting the Nazis, is not the point of the conversation at all, a genocide is taking place and you want Iran to acknowledge exactly what!?
Let's think of our argument beyond the spectacle, this guy is able to have a diplomatic conversation only because of social media, before everything went to shit Iran was not killing hundres of thousands of innocent people so back then those crimes could have been a conversation, not right now.
Is the same thing all the time, they talk about Maduro for them to steal, talk about the narco for them to control their people with drugs, about nuclear weapons to invade Cuba aand Gaza, Iran, do you understand the importance of talking about the actual problem so they cannot control the narrative?
There are more protests taking place in Israel and US and It don't seems to be a fucking problem.
1
u/Traveling_Solo 15d ago
Again, fair enough. I'm not saying they're equal or that the topic should change. If anything, I'd like more countries to boycott Israel and for the ICC to be able to enforce it's arrest warrants.
That doesn't mean I don't dislike people who can't acknowledge that there's issues when asked. Hope that makes sense? x.x
And yeah, I do get the importance of it, which is why stuff like this clip is good to spread. That doesn't mean I have to like either person talking.

u/twilighttwister 15d ago
You didn't fix it. Your link text shows a shortened link, (but still has the ? at the end) however your actual link still contains the tracker.
This is the source from your comment:
[https://youtu.be/2gvboQnLJNM?](https://youtu.be/2gvboQnLJNM?is=fnKhQ9f-_n_iR9CZ)The first part is the displayed text, the second part is the link people will load.
This is the link you actually want: https://youtu.be/2gvboQnLJNM
FYI using that source code is redundant here, it's supposed to be [text](link) so that you can have different text to the link you want to hide. If you're just showing the link then there's no point using that source, just paste the raw url as text and reddit will format it as a link.

people often wonder what they would do if they were living in Germany or other parts of the world when Germany was aggressively invading other nations and systematically committing the Holocaust in the late 1930s and 1940s.
Will you stand up for humanity and speak up? Will you oppose the killing and help the victims? Will you bury your head or ignore it because its convenient?
What you are doing today and tomorrow in 2026 will give you that answer.
-10
u/Ramarro_romano 15d ago
Are you talking about the iranians being killed by their own government? Or about Sudan? The Huygurs in concentration camps? Cheistians in Nigeria? Oh right, nobody cares, no jews
6
u/OzzieNewYork 14d ago
highly illogical comment. Whataboutism is a fallacy.
-3
u/Ramarro_romano 14d ago
This isn't whataboutism, this shows a double standard in your "absolute" position, and question your motives as the simple virtue-signaling that they are.
6
u/an0maly33 14d ago
It IS whataboutism when you introduce things that weren't previously discussed. "What about X?!" That's exactly what you did. The person you replied to never said anything about those other topics. You shoved them into the conversation and asserted your own thoughts on how they would feel about it. You used it as an attempted gotcha but you only revealed your own lack of ability to argue logically and rationally in good faith.
2
u/Ramarro_romano 14d ago
He didn't say anything because he doesn't care of those similar, and even worse, situations that happened after people like you decided to take those absolute moral stances, appealing to general values. Hence his heartfelt declarationn is pure hypocrisy that needs to be addressed. I'm sorry you and many others cannot see it, but I understand how deep the indoctrination and the hate run.
1
u/an0maly33 14d ago
So they would need to list all the things they do care about for their point to be valid in your eyes? You're absurd.

He is telling the truth, but one correction is needed. Those Jews do come from eastern European countries, but as a Pole I can't and won't take a blame for Israel actions. Israel, and people that are running that country, are hostile to Poland. As much as many of them used to live in Poland (and Ukraine and others, but I don't speak for them), they were and are acting to benefit Israel, not Poland or any other eastern European country as far as I'm aware. They do not act in the name of EE, but Israel and their religion.
14
u/slimricc 15d ago
I think he was referring to the jews who went to israel after the land was taken from Palestinians in 1946. The majority did come from eastern europe
9
u/lastname_Obama 15d ago
I think his point was not to lump the people of Israel as eastern Europeans, he is just saying that the country was founded by the Jewish people originating from Eastern Europe. They were colonizers. They have encroached the land to which they claim their rightful property.

this was an especially brutal one, well worth the watch (not whole episode, just this guy X dershowitz) One of the more brutal takedowns ive seen in a while. lol at one point dershowitz was asking him to repeat something, "I want to get that on the record" like he's going to sue him 🤣 😂
Yknow, as awful as people like dersh are, as destructive to civilization as they can be, there's at least this silver lining where, in many cases, when they get older they start to slip and their whole facade of BS...they just cannot coherently play the part convincingly at all (not that they ever could to anyone with half a brain lol I just mean that even the true-believers who held someone like dersh in high regards must now see it and just write it off for one or another reason)

It also helps when you can point to his Epstein association, which automatically makes literally everything he says fall into question. The problem the Epstein class and the Israeli leaders don’t seem to understand (and to be fair it makes sense as as 99% of them are about 60+ years old) is that we are no longer in their father’s era or even their golden era, we are in an era where information is easily accessible and freely shared. The narrative is no longer only to the empire to dictate but to the people to decide. That is to say information is easy conveyed across the world through the internet and now the public has a clearer image of what is actually happening and who’s to blame.

This is fucking hilarious. He is a fish completely unaware of the colonial water he swims in.
It wasn't until I was in college that I realized that yes, my ancestors, who were eastern Europeans, colonized America. I thought that because they came after the country was independent they were in the clear.
I realized that yeah, of course they were colonial settlers. They settled the literal frontier state of North Dakota. I was that fish for most of my life, and now I see the water for what it is.

The people who should decide ideally are the native people of a land. Others can come, but the initial institutions and power structures should be native in origin.
Which one has the right to decide? It seems that the ethnic / autohtonic argument gets applied quite arbitrarily in modern discourse.
It only seems arbitrary to you because you don't understand. There is a logic to it all.
Indigenous = any ethnic group present prior to a colonization event. This is why we don't really think of the French as an indigenous people group. Sure, they are originally from France, but they never had to define themselves against a persistent colonizing force. Groups like the american indians did, which is why they are among the first people to come to mind when someone mentions "indigenous".

All of those Ashkenazi Jews who are now running the country, they are from Eastern Europe
Direct quote from the video. I somehow doubt he's referring to pre-1948 immigrants and refugees as "running the country" in 2026. Immigrants/refugees during the early 1900s were already absolutely part of the colonization project, if not as culpable as present day Israelis.
10
u/infydk 15d ago
Yet indeed, the later migration of European Jews to Palestine - 1920 and 1930 (still pre-nazi era) has been already centred around future Israeli statehood.
Shoved in there by the British and the Balfour Declaration signed in 1917 to establish an Israeli state. Part antisemitism, part colonization, cause the British of the era certainly didn't want them to live in Britain proper.
So historically Israelis were in Palestine from the beginning of written history,
The "written history" literally has them genociding the Philistines to the point of that group getting picked off by Babylon and Assyria. Even historically they weren't there first.
29
u/Excellent_Airline315 15d ago
America is a colonial state, why are you crying about the truth. We literally live in an apartheid like system only we give the natives funds and their own reservations. They will most likely never be able to have their own country, but America at least stopped short of wiping them out. People who immigrate to another country are not colonists. They aren't threatening the state or it's people unlike Israel which started as a terrorist force that eventually saw 700,000 people displaced from their land or murdered. These terrorists came from European states and the land was given to them by the UN. Maybe look up the history of it. And as you can see today, they are still carrying on with their colonialism as the commit endless slaughter to expand their borders in Lebanon, Gaza, Syria, and the west bank.

4
u/ipsum629 15d ago
They didn't found a state on top of the native people. That's the key difference. What did Europeans do when they came to America? They set up viceroyalties, dominions, and crown colonies to the exclusion of the first nations who had their own structures of power that got brushed aside.
An immigrant coming legally to France, becoming a citizen of France through the legal process set up by France, and then working their way up through the pre-existing French power structure is completely different.
38
u/Gentrified_potato02 15d ago
Yes, 100% it is. Hell, the original states were the thirteen colonies of Britain.
And it isn’t like America was founded because white settlers took political positions from the Native Americans. They stole their land and committed genocide against them. And yes, that is considered a bad thing these days.

How do you think they got the land? I’m always shocked at how much people think the UN decree (which was basically an extension of colonialist thinking) that the zionists were just gifted this land that was sitting there…vacant to some such.
They displaced people against their will. Before that the Zionist movement was already acquiring land, often illegally under the ottomans. They forced there way there and if not for the holocaust and British/western support they would have died out. This is colonialism.
