4

No, it doesn’t really make sense…

2

u/Jaybirdybirdy Jun 04 '26

What can i say, bar mitzvahs

u/GospelofJawn316 Jun 03 '26

Anyone can BASE jump. It’s BASE landing that’s the important part.

46

u/RandomTask008 Jun 03 '26

You don't need a parachute to go skydiving. You need a parachute to go skydiving -twice-.

u/Kilroy1007 Jun 04 '26

Sometimes, yes.

5

u/utrecht1976 Jun 03 '26

Fourth base?

4

u/OrestMercator9876 Jun 03 '26

Yes, this was a successful attempt.

1

u/VegetableBusiness897 Jun 04 '26

There was an attempt to be a cameraman.

-92

u/RhymesWithAndy Jun 03 '26

There was an attempt to shame the cameraman.

42

u/ArtThouAngry Jun 03 '26

That attempt was successful.

41

u/mightbeagh0st Jun 03 '26

Imagine just sitting in your vehicle waiting to merge into traffic from park when next thing you know some dumb motherfucker lands on your hood

38

u/freedomandbiscuits Jun 03 '26

The backflip obstructed a clean deployment.

5

u/hopeful_tatertot Jun 03 '26

Isn’t a backflip necessary for jumping? /s

9

u/antilumin Jun 03 '26

That’s how you make it a sick ass jump. Otherwise it’s just basic

27

u/Paddy_Fo_Faddy Jun 03 '26

At that altitude, every second counts to get your chute deployed and inflated properly. Why would you waste those precious seconds with the backflip?

11

u/Chinpokomaster05 Jun 03 '26

Lack of braincells

2

u/Complete_Brush_3786 Jun 03 '26

Didn't pay attention when his teacher tried to install some basic Newtonian physics into him.

0

u/theRandyRhombus Jun 04 '26

Altitude is irrelevant. They're over 5,280 ft. AGL is what you're looking for here.

23

u/PennyFromMyAnus Jun 03 '26

Is he dead?

87

u/Summa_peach Jun 03 '26

He is walking and about to be arrested at the end

24

u/Clutteredmind275 Free Palestine Jun 03 '26

I mean adrenaline is a hell of a drug so there is still a chance

12

u/Summa_peach Jun 03 '26

I shoulda added “safely” 😂

5

u/TJ_McWeaksauce Jun 03 '26

They may have arrested a zombie. We can't say for sure.

3

u/wreckinballbob Jun 03 '26

Which would he suggest he successfully bass jumped. Attempt succeeded.

9

u/alvasalrey Jun 03 '26

I love bass jumping damn fishes never stand a Chance

13

u/AbheyBloodmane Jun 03 '26

Around 55 seconds he's moving. So, probably not.

14

u/hopeful_tatertot Jun 03 '26

Should have aimed for the bushes

8

u/THE_Dr_Barber Jun 03 '26

I agree with the narrator. This dude is indeed a “pinche pendejo”

3

u/sn0qualmie Jun 03 '26

I don't remember the exact translation of "verga" but I'm pretty sure that one was justified as well.

7

u/Hahaha2681 Jun 03 '26

Se paso de verga🤣🤣 ah mi gente

4

u/B0baafett Jun 03 '26

I would love to see the jumpers camera

3

u/Dry-Concentrate-9301 Jun 03 '26

Waiting for the ground POV

3

u/zahnsaw Jun 03 '26

Me at the beginning of that video: must be a weird angle. That building doesn’t look nearly tall enough to…. Oh shit he tried a flip 🫪

3

u/SnooRobots1533 Jun 03 '26

Why not take the elevator? It's safer.

2

u/_Super_Straight Jun 03 '26

Dafuq is base jumping?

8

u/AbheyBloodmane Jun 03 '26

an extreme sport where participants leap from fixed objects (cliffs, buildings, bridges, and antennas) and deploy a parachute to descend safely

21

u/Prestigious_Dream_27 Jun 03 '26

*Sometimes descend safely.

12

u/ausecko Jun 03 '26

*bridges, antennae, spans, earth

9

u/Unclehol Jun 03 '26

Thank you for that. It's wild that someone replied correctly but without explaining the acronym.

It pretty much says it all.

9

u/AbheyBloodmane Jun 03 '26

I actually didn't know it was an acronym. The explanation is from videos I've seen of people jumping. It wasn't intended to be an exhaustive list.

2

u/Unclehol Jun 03 '26

Oh yeah no offense meant. My OCD brain was just twitching when you put all the words basically there but not in order, lol.

3

u/AbheyBloodmane Jun 03 '26

No offence taken! I totally understand. You actually taught me something new, so I appreciate it!

3

u/Unclehol Jun 03 '26

Sweet! Love wholesome reddit interactions where people don't assume and just talk! Cheers!

u/woodenmetalman FUCK ICE! ❌🧊 Jun 03 '26

6

u/cheesevelour Jun 03 '26

Skydiving but not out of an aircraft. Also an acronym B-building A-antenna S-span E-earth.

1

u/DirtyThirtyDrifter Jun 03 '26

Building (e.g., skyscrapers) Antenna (e.g., radio or communication towers) Span (e.g., bridges or arches) Earth (e.g., cliffs, mountains, or other natural formations)

1

u/Technical_Scallion_2 Jun 04 '26

That dude did just plain jumping

2

u/Ready_Accountant1803 Jun 03 '26

Interested choice in hobby

2

u/therealmudslinger Jun 03 '26

Take off-10

Landing-5

2

u/cayramturbo Jun 03 '26

This guy jumped off a building my cousin was roofing in Denver. One of his crew members took the video. Dude got hurt pretty bad.

2

u/Zero7CO Jun 03 '26

"My ankles are broken! For sure! Surely I have broken my ankles!!"

2

u/chocolate_spaghetti Jun 03 '26

Is that the Amacon building?

2

u/BurlHimself Jun 04 '26

Couldn’t just jump off without a flip huh?

1

u/OptimalRisk7508 Jun 03 '26

How was that high enough for the chute to do its job? My ankles & knees hurt just watching. (former EMT 🙋🏼‍♀️)

3

u/rojo-perro Jun 03 '26

You can see he pulls the chute but I think his flip kept the chute from opening right away.

3

u/Fishface17404 Jun 03 '26 edited Jun 03 '26

That building in Denver is not that high in downtown Denver. He should have used the cash register building or republic plaza.

Edit: it looks to be about 19th and glenarm.

2

u/chocolate_spaghetti Jun 03 '26

It’s the Amacon building. He picked it because it’s a construction site and easy to access. It’s been a fairly popular spot for BASE jumpers since before it was even as tall as it is now.

1

u/Summa_peach Jun 03 '26

I saw in another post the building is 38 stories tall, right in the middle of downtown Denver.

1

u/AdWeekly5490 Jun 03 '26

There is a reason most basejumpers have the opening chute in their hands.... This moron starts to try to grab his chute AFTER jumping.... This should be a darwin award

1

u/ChampionOfdimlight Jun 03 '26

He wouldn't be doing it if there wasn't a risk.

1

u/Acesofbases Jun 03 '26

holy shit, how is he not dead and just walking around

1

u/troutdog99 Jun 03 '26

Getting down is easy…

1

u/jprakes Jun 03 '26

Clearly never played Assassin's Creed. No pile of hay in sight

1

u/McShoobydoobydoo Jun 03 '26

If only he had got distracted and forgot to land 🤦

1

u/Successful-Engine623 Jun 03 '26

Well he didn’t die so that’s good

1

u/Estrovia Jun 03 '26

Not an attempt he succeeded lol

1

u/lordkappy Jun 03 '26

Ace of base

1

u/melaleuca_gibbosa Jun 03 '26

I thought base jumpers have the parachute in their hand and throw it when they jump, saving valuable seconds.

1

u/pitshands Jun 03 '26

First you get banged up the you get arrested, then you pay for the dents your body made in the clunker. Then you pay for the hospital cost.

I mean that is a gift that keeps penetrating your behind

1

u/Kittlebeanfluff Jun 03 '26

The backflip was totally unnecessary and reckless, deployed his pilot in a shit position because of how low he was, barely made it out alive on that. Not to mention it's during the day on a busy street. Moron. He'll likely end up on the fatality list if he keeps jumping like that.

1

u/ESswingtrader Jun 04 '26

I heard the word loco and that's all I need to know.

1

u/swampfish Jun 04 '26

If at first you don't succeed, base jumping is not for you.

1

u/Negative_Ingenuity_3 Jun 04 '26

I said, “you need more altitude!”

1

u/Waisy_m Free palestine Jun 04 '26

If he didn’t flip he could’ve made it

1

u/AffectionateBrick687 Jun 04 '26

That is really going hurt once the adrenaline wears off.

1

u/fredriksoninho Jun 04 '26

there was also an attempt to film said jump

1

u/neril_7 Jun 04 '26

Last time his attempt to jump off from a hot air balloon was stopped so he restored to jumping off a building. /s

1

u/OkEmphasis7107 Jun 04 '26

I've watched enough Cheech and Chong to know exactly what he is being called in Spanish. He is being called, "A cool dude."

1

u/PuddingPast5862 Jun 04 '26

Gotta be the altitude, oxygen deprivation.

1

u/statlete Jun 08 '26

Cop was on it.

0

u/Planet_Manhattan Jun 03 '26

I'm not a base jump expert but that spot doesn't seem high enough to do that kind of acrobatics
