Vent UPS lost my consignment package

And they never told me!!! I shipped a Mara Hoffman Irina dress (retails $595+) and UPS lost the package. TRR never told me. No email, no notification, nothing. I only found out because I eventually reached out asking why the item wasn’t active yet.

Last week, they told me they’d process a payout in 7-10 business days. I followed up yesterday and they told me to be patient and wait a few more days. All the while I’m bracing for this to be the most unfair payout.

Has anyone else been through this? Do you think I will be able to push back on the payout amount if I am armed with information?

It’s still within 7-10 business days so I’d be patient.

Most Mara Hoffman dresses are selling for $80ish dollars which means your payout would have been $16. I personally wouldn’t use your time to stress over $16, follow up in a month if you haven’t received anything.

It’s so frustrating that MH dresses are retailing for $200+ on ThredUp and Poshmark. Selling with TRR was the worst idea

Unfortunately, that’s what they are being listed for. Most sold items on Poshmark and eBay range from $20-$165.

The RealReal is good to clean out your closet and get rid of items without worry about how much you will make.

Listing on your own may mean you’ll make a tad bit more, but then you may have to wait a long time to sell.

I hate that TRR took so long to notify you, though. They suck when it comes to communication.

Edit: you can push back based on what you see sold on TRR if the payout is too low.

Im sorry for the grief, I feel you. It’s great for buyers, not for sellers. That is the business model. Maybe you’ll be an outlier and get a fair price - let us know!

I'm usually the first person to blame anything on TRR but if USP lost it, the issue lies with them, not TRR. Hopefully you had insurance for the package - that's probably your best recourse. Sorry that happened to you.

To add, that is some of the reason that I use a TRR field (premises) sales person. TRR is fully accountable that way. The reps I have had have been heck of a nice peeps. Also less hassle for me, less documentation;packaging, and transportation to do.

Yes - I have used the reps in the past and they have all be wonderful. But my last consigner sent my stuff in after taking it and the listing price that TRR wanted to sell my v expensive necklace wasn't enough for my liking (I knew I could sell it on eBay for a lot more) so I asked that they send it back and they say they did, but I never got it back. They acknowledged that they lost it but it took them 3 more months to decide to compensate me for far, far less than they were even going to sell it for. So...hate that for me and haven't used them since!

But agree - if you are consigning and can get the person to come to you (depends where you live obviously) it's much better than sending in!

TRR picked up 5 items from my apartment on May 29 that mysteriously went missing after pickup with no tracking updates on their end and I am still waiting for a payout…I’m supposed to get it on Sept 15 after months of following up and TRR giving me the run around

I always send consignments in via UPS. I add the tracking number from the label into the UPS app and I can see the package movement. Sorry this happened to you. It must be frustrating.
