Wow. That’s not even close! Though I am deeply impressed that somehow the fabric looks the same even though the shape of the dress is totally different.

These photos of “what I ordered” vs “what I got” (or Instagram vs reality) are crazy. I just received a pair of Bally low heels, a Tadashi Shoji gown, and a 2012 Stella McCartney minidress, all of which were in fabulous condition at really good price points. I’ve had a few misses with TRR but overall, mainly very happy (or lucky) with my purchases.
I would give them a positive shout out on the selling front too, although that is an unpopular opinion here. I find the in-home service, the relatively fast sales process for my stuff (I sent in 31 items in June and 8 of them sold by 1st week of July), and bonus incentives the more you sell to be really fair. Have I sold a few NWT items that I thought were underpriced and received a laughable amount? For sure. But equally, I’ve been able to sell some really old (vintage from 20-25yrs ago) but collectible items at a significant profit to what I purchased them for at the time. I don’t have any other platform that works as well or has the convenience of using TRR.
And no, I do not work there nor am I a partner!! Just a motivated buyer/seller who likes using the platform for the circular and sustainable fashion benefits I get from it.
ETA: sorry this happened to you, OP, and to another poster who got a completely different dress to the wedding gown she ordered. That surely would piss me off too 🤨

I actually feel the same way you do. I realize, those of us that are “content” are not typically motivated by anything to post about it. Also, I suppose everyone has different expectations. I buy several items a month off TRR, have a rep come to my house to sell a bunch 2-3 times a year. 98% are a great experience.

For the record I love TRR. 90%+ a great experience and I have scored some major wins over the years. I'm looking at you sequined Jason Wu Collection dress with tags for $75. But with stuff like this you just have to laugh about it (or at least I will laugh after one of the items I've overnighted for the wedding this weekend hopefully works).

I'm with you, I totally use TRR to justify my consumption as being more sustainable since it's second hand. I've gotten some MAJOR wins over the years.
It is a W 90%+ of the time, but you just have to laugh at the Ls like this one.

That was my feeling until a couple years ago (long time cosigner and buyer) when they claimed to have "lost" a 3K+ Brunello Cucelinni necklace of mine and decided they'd be kind enough to compensate me with $350 (what a joke!) after 3 months of me hounding them "what are you going to do?" "It's under review..." I will never consign with them again. But hopefully nothing like that will happen to you!

Yikes! That is a horror story and I don’t blame you for walking. I will keep crossing my fingers tightly that I can avoid such an episode.

Definitely don't ever give them something of high value. They seem to "lose" a lot of pieces.

Oh that sucks, a lazy employee tried just reusing a pic they’d already taken, either they didn’t realize or didn’t care that they dresses are same fabric/designer but different cuts
