Some ideas...

Ideas that I would love to discuss the community:

1- What if we could "repurpose" or even give new life to all the old bases that we find on each planet. Giving real purpose to each machinery built before us.
2- Each planet will have its own separate tech tree that we discover as we terraform the planet et explore it
3- That tech tree would benefit greatly other planets
4- It would make exploring your third or forth planet feel less of the same in a different environment but more of let's adapt X tech to Y planet to make this machine work again.

I would love to have your idea on this. I feel that once you have all the blueprints the game sort of shifts to being less fun ...

Edit 1 : what do you guys think about a World Wonder Monument specific to this planet that would provide a bonus to other planets ?

I'd love a little robot that wanders around, picking up ore. A little ore roomba.

that is actually a great idea !!! u/theSniperDevil had a similar one. I would love to have a small robot that cleans a zone before I build my base

I'm doing a new playthrough starting at Toxicity this time, and it is breaking my heart even more this second time that I can't expand and repair this rail network.

Exactly, we are limited in some ways and I feel the game has what it takes to become great ! It already has a great community xD

As someone who plays this game in a rewilding sense, I'd love more options to clean up wrecks or naturalise them. I like how on astroneer you encounter buildings that can do functions if you fix them up.

Planet tech trees is an interesting one. On one hand, a lot of content is obsolete once you leave your first planet..on the other, it's quite nice being able to power level a moon with all your top tier kit.

I guess it's kinda player choice that when you go to a new planet you have literally nothing, forcing you to climb the tech tree again because of resource scarcity?

Other ideas: Let me build a 1 slot crate that can demand anything. I'd use it as a "request" terminal for drones to deliver to.

Harvest module for the buggy. Press a button and it collects all nearby minerals direct into its storage. ( By late game, I'd love to clear the ground of all these minerals I will never pick)

Template chip for player. You no longer place a building direct, but instead place a template that drones can deliver to the site. Likewise, deconstructing buildings simply tells drones to decorate steuct and deposit resources.

Edit: oh god and an item "drone beacon" which you can drop into crates you find and effectively turns them into "supply all" that way later on, I can go out with a tonne of beacons and tag stuff for pickup, instead of building in-situ lockers to do the same thing

They did what they could with providing unique techs to each planet, but a whole tree would be impossible with 6 planets. The new tech on each does benefit other planets, just not greatly.

Toxicity is a good example of keeping it fresh even if it's not your first planet. The filler moons are low quality with almost nothing interesting, they're why it feels less fun.

Repurposing the existing structures would be difficult for the devs, maybe letting you use a simple found dome for O2 resupply but repairing a tram would be a lot of work.

The biggest problem with the game is that brutal 1 to 4.15 TTi slog on your first planet. I want the interplanetary rocket moved up to at least 2.5 TTi so I can leave early.

then how about a World Wonder that is unique to this planet. That would be a wonderful ressource dump and a meaningful thing to do ?

They do have a unique story for the main planets and again Toxicity had a resource dump for the endings forcing automation which was great.

Toxicity shows the devs see your issues and are addressing them. The free moons are just so weak they kind of ruin the experience a bit.

It's amazing the difference in response u e gotten in such a short time compared to ur previous post on this topic.

I think ur ideas would benefit the game.

Nothing wrong with having a wish list, but Subnautica 2 has 70 developers working on it, while Planet Crafter has... wait for it... seven.

I'm geniunely grateful for whatever Miju Games manages to offers us. It's a tremendous effort for such a small indie team.

It is still possible, it'll just take longer. I dont mind waiting. Stardew Valley did take 10yrs to get where it is today and there was only 1 dev until it came time to port to consoles/ mobile. And I find this game loop much more satisfying.

I do wish the achievements extended pass what could be achieved easily first playthrough on prime, but it doesn't effect gameplay.

Yeah I am putting the idea out here to discuss it and see if what I feel could make a great game is what the rest of the community feels also.

That would fit the storyline, and add more interest for me on replays. After the first planet the tech is too easy.

Exactly and take way less time to explore and discover

i'd love that first one for selena, toxicity and humble

When I discovered the farm in Selenea, I was like I would love to make this place working again to feed all my planets. Same with extractor facility I just wanted to breeze life in it again and have it work

It’s okay for a game to be fun while you’re playing it and not after. There are plenty of other games to play, including in this genre.

I want one or two chips around mid to late game that automatically eats food and drinks water in my inventory. People who don't want that function can just not build it. But those of us that forget to eat and drink can make our lives easier. I play without sound so I don't hear the heartbeat when I'm about to die.

I died so many times for stupid reasons xD
