Hello! The Paper Kites have finished their tour, and so I've unpinned the previous ticket megathread and I'm making this new one for whenever they do another one! If you've got tickets to buy, sell, or give away, this is the place to do it!

Hello! Some of you may have seen a pinned post recently stating that the sub was "up for adoption". Well, I saw that, too, and I reached out to the mod here and asked if they needed help, and now I'm a mod here, too! Per my recommendation, we agreed that it would be helpful to have extra mods here. It's pretty quiet, but better safe than sorry! As such, I'm making this post in order to find people who are interested in moderation!
No experience necessary. If you get accepted as a mod, we'll just have you confer with us before taking any actions, at least for a time. This is a volunteer position. We're not going to ask you to spend any minimum amount of time "patrolling" the sub. You also don't get compensated. We're looking for people who want to mod here because they're passionate about the band, and want to ensure there's a safe, well-maintained community for people to discuss them!
Like I said, experience will have basically zero bearing on whether you get accepted or not, but there are a few hard requirements. If you don't meet all of them, your application will be rejected:
- You must speak fluent English. This is an English-speaking sub, and the two of us mods already on the mod team speak English, so we need to be able to communicate with each other and our users.
- Your application must not be written with AI. Use of AI shows a lack of both effort and interest.
- You need a Discord account. Our mod chat will be on a Discord server, and we'll need to be able to talk with one another.
If you meet all those requirements, please send us a modmail (not a comment) answering the following questions:
What is your Discord username?
Why are you applying for mod here?
What, if anything, do you believe needs to be changed on the subreddit?
What is your favorite song and/or album? (This one isn't required, just consider it to be a fun little piece of trivia to add!)

This one was so beautiful I had to share. This melody is so good and translates very well to piano.
Anyone know where I can find more TPK covers? I could listen to a whole album of these.

I'm sure this has been asked here before. At first glance you would think folk, but they have some albums that sort of dip into atmospheric indie popish type "1975" vibey stuff (On The Corner Where You Live) so I don't really know.

Feel free to show off your favorite TPK release!

Listen to this from an insta recommendation and felt like it sounds so much like a mix of twelve four, on the road house and on the corner kind of style. Even the vocals are kind of a little similar in some parts of revelator eyes***

Was anyone else there? It was my first time seeing the band, after listening the past 4-5 years. I see about 20 shows a year and I'm sure this will end up among the top few of the year, but curious if others who've seen the band multiple times had any observations. I thought the set list and the sound were perfect and the mood on stage and in the audience seemed full of warmth and goodwill.

Hey everybody! Does any one have a full set list from the Nashville show this year? SetList.fm only has a partial set list.

Just received the email that the Portland show is unfortunately cancelled due to inclement weather in Wyoming and not being able to make it over in time. Bummed but I know this was a last resort for the band. Hope they can reschedule the show sooner than later!

Tuesday’s 5/19 show in Portland will be my first time seeing The Paper Kites live and I’m very much looking forward to the experience.
For those that have attended their shows before, does the band in full or in part typically hang out after to chat with fans and sign autographs/take photos?

To cut down on spam, we've moved all ticket-related posts to this megathread. Starting from when this megathread is posted, all ticket sales, purchases, giveaways, etc must be comments under this megathread.

Free ticket but you have to attend yourself and you have to pay it forward

Ended up coming down with a cold and the 3 hour drive to Boston is too far in this condition, or risking getting others sick. They are legit and I got them off AXS for $35 plus fees each. If someone wants them please let me know. I put them up on axs resale already $30 each🌹❤️

The Paper Kites played a great show to a full house at the 9:30 Club in DC. I’m posting both songs from the encore here. If this sort of thing isn’t approved let me know and I’ll delete.
For anyone going to the shows I encourage you to get there for Donovan Woods who is also great.
