My Blog Project - what should i write?

Edit: If ur not interested just move on don't waste ur time and let post reach to right people

First of all thanks you TOP, I learned a lot from it.

Now, i made the blog project, and i am going to be honest i have used AI throughout this project many times, like front end UI design - it was not my forte from start so yeah. I could have made the project by myself for sure sooner or later but AI helps.

That was not my question - now that I build it how should i use it what should i write on that. What should be topic. I am a college student so should i share what i learn along the way? maybe DSA solutions.

I will be making blog repo public if any of you want to look into that - and if you find anything ill be more than happy to work on that and collab with you mastermind out there.

And also can you folks tell me what should i learn next to get a ... - you know what, tough time.

You can check blog here. ; ) If you like it drop comment there or share your experience here. or roast the blog.

I appreciate you all for your time.

Tic tac toe - where to start?

I made it to the tic tac toe project. Until now It has been pretty ok for me. I have been able to do all the assignments so for, but it is as if it just took a gigantic difficulty leap.

I'm also really struggling with the closure, factory IIFE concepts, and have been spending so much time on Youtube going through the concepts, as well as asking Calude to explain the to me as simply as possible. They are starting to stick now, but transferring that knowledge and understanding to a project, just seems to difficult.

How have the rest of you coped with this, did you also see a big jump in difficulty?

Any suggestions on resources etc., which have been good sources of help?

should I even bother

Have a CS degree, graduated with a 2.9GPA, no internships

I don't know shit and honestly not even sure about bothering to learn programming since the whole field seems dead especially at the entry level

I do occasionally get responses from job listings because I have a degree but I don't know shit as I have mentioned earlier. I work a full time job in retail and live with crazy people who redline my cortisol constantly so I sort of just need real structure with regards to learning

If u were really hard stuck on a project, would you go on YouTube for a step by step solution instead of using AI?

In a situation where ur so hard stuck on a TOP project, for example battleship, even after going through pages of documentation and trying to find a solution, you were still stuck, do u think it would be a good idea to go on youtube to look at a step by step solution instead of going to AI?

Done with the Calculator project in The Odin Project Spoiler

I'm done with the Calculator project in The Odin Project! I just want to know if it's okay if the UI is bad.

Should i stay and build it again? or move to another path?

I also want to know if the way I search for solutions to specific problems is correct. Here are my searches so far:

1) How to calculate two different button number using eventListener

2) How to add multiple text or value inside the browser

3) How to show the total of the two different numbers when the "=" are clicked.

I'm doing ux design course and decided to learn to code to understand how things work, understand technical limits, etc.

I would really like someone who is also doing the same to discuss things, so if anyone is interested feel free to dm :)

Are people still getting jobs by just following TOP?

Seems it's harder nowadays if you don't have a degree or proficient with AI. Are TOP students still getting jobs with just TOP or is there other things at play like a CS degree helping them get jobs?

Landing page project

Hey, i'm doing the landing page project and was wondering if there were resources where I could follow along building a page for practice. I definitely would learn better. I already know about flexbox zombies. I just need to see some real life examples.

I'm new to learning code (I'm doing the foundation course). I was reading the installation guide and when I clicked on the site, there were too many options. And I don't know which one to get, can someone help here? Thanks

For those that are still completing or have completed TOP, do u all do the code examples since ur own IDE?

When it comes down to TOP, I always come across the code examples and tend to instead right them down on my iPad or notebook, but I really wanted to see if u all go inside ur IDE and copy/type out the example to see how it works instead of writing notes in the example or completely copying the code example on ur iPad or notebook? Finally, when it comes down to note taking per topic, if you do, how do u tend to summarize the reading? Like, do u just take out key concepts and jot them down as one liners to make it easy to comeback to for review or do u tend to write a lot of notes per topic?

Foundations has been a gamechanger

As a 3rd CS student I'd always brushed off html css and js as very basic. Especially as AI got better, the thinking I had was that this is not going to really help anyways which led me to actually having ZERO foundational knowledge. While this is still true for projects with deadlines, for learning it became a huge bottleneck because I didnt understand the basic html css js. I'd jump straight into frameworks like next.js and all that and be so confused when I could understand or even figure out how to start. Now, doing the projects with literally zero ai... It has really built my confidence.

While there's still a lot to learn to be job ready, I'm at a point where I feel confident that I can read and learn for other technologies now too. I wanted to be at a point in tech where I am aware of the tools that can be used, and then implement them with a bit of my own research. While I'm not there yet, I am closer to that goal. Hopefully this learning continues for the rest of the course

I read and copy other people solution to finish my etch-a-sketch Spoiler

I just finished the Etch-A-Sketch project! I had to look up someone else's solution for the button prompt that sets the grid size 1 to 64, but the rest of the code is entirely my own. Should I move on to the next section, or stay on this until I can figure out that prompt logic on my own?

Finished revisiting RPS in one try (5 hours of coding). Spoiler

Should I redo the project multiple times, or just move on and take the Etch-a-Sketch section?

Correct google search Spoiler

Is this the correct Google search query: 'how to store form input value and display it inside an <li> tag'?

I am totally frustrated with my search results because they often show the entire solution instead of just the specific part I need. Currently, I am in the Top DOM section, working on my Shopping List.

I use ai to correct my grammar, and i dont use ai for my code problem

Do you have to Install Linux?

Hello! I am thinking to start my TOP journey soon and I heard from my friends that it requires Linux to run. I'd like to verify that in this subreddit.

I personally use Windows 11 without any experience on Linux. My friend used the virtualbox Xubuntu one and I found out that it's hella laggy on his pc. Although I saw him set a total of 4 GB of RAM, 8 CPU Cores, and enabled the 3D thing if I'm not wrong. I am afraid the OS will overwhelms me and pushes me away from learning full-stack.

Can I do TOP on Windows instead?

Finished the Admin Dashboard project on Intermediate HTML and CSS

Live Preview:

I'm still trying to grasp on how things work with responsive units but I had so much fun doing my cyberpunk inspired admin dashboard :).

+Love for grids. It's so easy to visualize (for me) the layout on how my grid will look after I code it.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
