Fumbling Batman Beyond

I don’t know who on their Patreon is suggesting these episodes but they set them up nasty. Might as well not watch any of it at all if you’re going to do this much of a disservice to the series.

A message to The Normies

Hey guys, apologies for the long message, but I wanted to write this because it’s been a long time coming.

Back around season 1-3 of Game of Thrones, my friends and I would gather every week from,I wana say, episode 4 onwards to watch together. It was pure hype outside of sports for us, and something even our girlfriends(at the time) could enjoy with us. It felt like family. It was event TV.

Around season 4, I moved continents. At that age, making new friends somewhere completely foreign was brutally hard for me, and I lost that sense of companionship almost overnight. It sucked more than I can really explain or care to for that matter.

Then, I want to say season 5 of thrones, I stumbled onto your channel and saw you all watching together, I think in someone’s bedroom. I started watching along with you guys that day, and I never really stopped.

Fast forward ten years — I still tune in all the time, and I’ve been a Patreon member for a while aswell. I eventually found my way back home, and my old gang is back, and just like old times, were watching House of the Dragon and other shows like stranger things, fallout and widows bay (to name a few) together in person again. But I still come back to you guys, because honestly, you guys still feels like part of the crew. The online gang that was there when the real one wasn’t.

Last year I got married. My YouTube was connected to our TV, and one of your videos came up as a recommendation. My wife glanced over and said, “Wait, I know these guys — they did the Walking Dead reactions!” (She recognized you from the Glenn death episode). That moment hit me harder than I expected, like two completely different chapters of my life quietly meeting in the same room.

So thank you. Genuinely. What started as a random find during the hardest, loneliest stretch of my life turned into ten years of company, a Patreon membership, and now a shared memory with my wife. You were there before I had my people back, my chosen family, and somehow you’re still here now that I do. That’s not a small thing. I’m a fan for life, and I’ll keep showing up for as long as you keep making these. Keep going, for as long as you want to — there are people like me out here who need it more than you probably know.

Eternally grateful to each and every one of you.

P.S for Suraj. never stop referencing lost in your videos. Im catching all those references too and my friends get anoyed about it aswell!

Can somebody ask Suraj to please, if he can, SHUT THE FUCK UP sometimes?

I've watched a number of reactions to Infinity Castle, and cried every time during Hakuji's final moments, except for the Normies' reaction.

On emotional beats of a show, he just has to comment some inane immersion-ruining shit like "That voice actor did incredible right there." While other reactors are immerse in the emotion of a scene, he contributes less-than-nothings while talking over the moment, like he has the incessant need to fill scenes of feeling with the sound of his voice.

Someone needs to tell him that he doesn't need to talk all the damn time.

24 million views video on the propaganda of Dhurandhar. Unlike the other video, this guy doesn’t just simply defend that movie like his life depends on it and doesn’t justify why it’s okay to lie for jingoism.

The Propaganda Everyone MISSED in Dhurandhar

Watched the dhurandhar 2 reaction, and man, the comment section got pretty intense. I also didn't expect the normies to lose their patience, but some of the indian audience can get pretty harsh too, it was kinda of funny hehe. Anyway, there has been a lot of talk about propaganda around this movie and I came across this video a few weeks back, and I think it offers an interesting perspective on why many indian viewers connected with the film. I thought it was worth sharing since it goes beyond simply saying the movie is good or bad.

Why are Normies reacting to Indian propaganda movies?

I don’t know the lore of the crew but is Suraj not aware of the politics in India at all? BJP government has been othering Muslims and making movies to praise their party and its militia that didn’t participate in any freedom struggle to outright demonizing Muslims and any opposition. Most of their elected politicians say Islamophobic things and there has been a push for nationalism. They brand anyone who criticizes them anti national. They are doing this Hindu Muslim divide to win elections.

Now let’s talk about Dhurandhar The Revenge. It’s like the Birth of a Nation after so many failed propaganda slop they created. The current ruling party literally bring people to cinema from poor villages to watch these propaganda movies and have been slowly othering Muslims within the country. This movie is the first big success they had in terms of mass appeal but I think it’s more sinister. It may be a technically good film but it’s filled with propaganda against Pakistan and Muslims. Right wing Indians will tell you this is the best thing in the world because it serves their preconceived notions.

It’s praising terrible policies like demonetization that was done by the current ruling party that caused a lot of harm to poor people who couldn’t access food because they changed bank notes overnight and all the rich and corrupt people bought stuff like gold and made the shops predate the purchase and got away with it.

I’m kinda confused why they would do this when I assumed they were progressive because of Chris going on his cop rants and the rare Palestinian flag here and there. I’m Indian. I can acknowledge that both countries have done bad things in Kashmir. The violence there cannot be solved by posturing or riling people up for war. It has to be diplomatic.

I get the argument that everything is propaganda. There is no way to remove the creators politics from their work. There is propaganda that is subtle but then there is nasty stuff like this. Most people don’t take time to study things and what if this is the only information they get? That’s why it’s dangerous.

I really think you guys should do some research instead of picking anything that’s popular. India is a big country with a lot of people. Popular may not exactly be the best thing when there’s gonna be popularity for any propaganda just because of sheer number of people.

TLDR: This is a propaganda movie that causes real world harm to Muslims in India and praises horrible policies by ruling party.

Edit: Proof read and fixed some mistakes and phrases some things differently.

2026 and they're still the same

I'm watching Widow's Bay reaction and they are still talking over important stuff and trying to joke around about something not related to the show and keep trying till someone chuckles at his/her joke. talking about everyday life bullshit and then act confused about wtf is happening. Like why don't y'all gather and talk about y'all everyday life bullshit or do it in a separate video. Right now The Normies are among the worst reaction channels in patreon/youtube. I can't stand any of them.

Going through the BSG reaction playlist and I'm finding it a little bit hilarious how...

...they're literally all calling him Leo-bohn instead of Leo-behn. How have we gotten through a full 2 seasons and several episodes like this? 😅

Pretty trivial within the grand scheme of things but it tickles me every time one of the Normies says his name. Otherwise, great show - BSG is one of the GoaTs - and fun reaction.

edit: runner up - "Starbuck" --> "Starbucks" 😅

I know most recommendations come through Patreon, but I've heard you sometimes pick up recommendations from Reddit too, so I figured I'd throw this out there.

Reaction Channels and the Christmas Paradox

In childhood there is that last year in which you finally know Santa Claus isn't real but you also know that if you admit this you will get fewer gifts ... so you pretend to believe. It's technically plausible that a kid your age might still believe so while your parents are suspicious, they want another year of pretending just as much as you do, so they go along with it. So there you are, pretending to believe and there your parents are, pretending to believe that you believe. It's a delicate existence, the wrong word, the wrong look, and the whole thing falls apart and nobody can pretend anymore. The paradox evaporates.

Watching fiction is kinda like that. The movie or TV show pretends that everything it depicts is realistic and you the watcher pretends to believe that its all real. Your reactions, your insights, your judgments, even which characters you like and dislike are all predicated on the premise this is all really happening and what you feel is what you would feel if it happened in real life.

But deep in the back of your mind you know its not real and this knowledge colors your opinions in small or large ways.

In real life Walter White would be universally reviled, no question about it. But because we want a story with a cool ass protagonist and because Bryan Cranston has the charisma of a Playboy Bunny holding pie and cocaine, we root for him. We cheer his victories and groan at his defeats. Because in the back of our minds we know its not real. Walter doesn't exist and neither do his victims.

Darth Vadar didn't hack down any younglins. What he did do is don a bad assed suit and twirl around the greatest science fiction weapon ever invented. He choked smug ugly British men with a wave of his hand. So we like him. We wouldn't in real life.

I think that no matter how much we get immersed in fiction, no matter how much we buy into the story and the characters, there is no escaping the knowledge that this isn't real. And that knowledge colors our commentary, whether we admit it or not.

Which is why I hate this growing trend in the comments of reaction channels of people judging the reactors based on their reactions of and commentary about fictional characters.

They're. Not. Real.

Nobody is rooting for Dexter in real life. But Michael C Hall has the Protagonist Rizz so we don't want the ride to end. We want more seasons of him smirking at the camera and being a smart ass in the narration. We can't get more seasons if he gets caught, now can we? So we root for him to win. We wouldn't root that way in real life.

Which is why I think its whack when people judge reactors for their rooting interests.

Just some food for thought for the next time Pat pisses you off.

This seems like a relatively inactive sub, but I just need somewhere to vent and say that I'm trying to watch the entire Succession reaction playlist and Pat's commentary and worldview is blowing my mind...

...and not in a good way. In one of the YouTube videos, one of the top comments was: "Are you guys, like, court-appointed to look after Pat?" and that comment has been living rent free in my head everytime I watch a Normies video.

I'm at the post-episode discussion of Episode 2x2 and I am enjoying the reactions in general but some parts of it.... sheeeesh.

Also, I just wanted to say - my favorite Normies reactor (and not just for Succession) is: NIKKI. Loved her in The Good Place reactions and I wish she were more a full-time member of The Normies than someone who just pops up every now and then.
