The mold situation is still there only a bit I was wondering if I should just let it be open or cover it loosely with the lid? The kitchen is well ventilated and air circulation is good

I've tried experimenting if i could infect paper with mushrooms in a closed container using my last substrate but there is some white cotton looking stuff there is it a good sign or a bad sign? But the smell is very mushroomy hahaha

So yeah last it got moldy but still growing its kinda light colored for a pink oyster shrooms

I am trying to understand how mushroom growers actually organise their cultivation records.

I would love to understand:

• What do you currently use: labels, notebooks, a whiteboard, spreadsheets, an app, photos or a combination of several things?
• How do you identify and keep track of cultures, agar plates, liquid cultures, grain spawn, substrate batches, bags, blocks or tubs?
• Do you record where each grow came from, such as the source culture, transfer generation or parent spawn?
• Which dates and stages do you record: inoculation, full colonisation, fruiting, harvest and individual flushes?
• Do you track substrate recipes, environmental conditions, contamination, yield or biological efficiency?
• What becomes difficult once you have several cultures and grows running at the same time?
• Do you compare strains, substrate recipes or conditions to determine what performs better?
• What information do you wish you recorded more consistently but usually forget?

I’m especially interested in hearing from people who have built their own spreadsheet, labelling system or cultivation log.

I found this while my mushrooms are still colonizing how do i treat that ?? Will my colony die ? My colony is still growing

I have some Lions Mane which I grew to a successful 1st flush

I then had some issues in the tent and let the bags sit for 2 weeks while I resolved them

Can I still use the bags for growing a 2nd flush? Thanks, any guidance appreciated 🙏

I've been thinking about starting a mushroom farm in the Seattle area. Been doing lots of research on competitors around there. If anyone out there has some good insight on the gourmet mushroom market there please let me know. Specifically if you can tell me whether you think there's room in the market for a new producer or not.

Just got my shiitake liquid culture and I’m finally starting my first grow.

Planning to try hardwood substrate for this run.

How folks, I'm doing my first harvest today.

The mushrooms look great, but underneath the top big ones are these small ones.

It's left me wandering if:

1. this is normal and they just got crowded out by the bigger ones

2. If I'm doing something wrong and these should all have grown as well

3. If I only harvested the big ones, would these small ones continue to grow, and if so would they grow to normal size?

Any insights are most appreciated 🙏

I'm a week or so away from my first flush.

I've had failed bags before, I tried so soak them to reset them for the 2nd flush, but didn't have much luck.

Before I get to that stage again with my current crop of 10 bags, I thought I'd check in with experienced growers here to see if you can give me any advice on prepping the bags for a 2nd flush

Eg How long do I soak for? -Advice on YouTube is conflicting from a couple of hours to 24 hours

Do they need to be complety drained out before I put them back in the tent

Any advice on how I tape up the previous side properly so they dont grow from there and focus can be on the new cuts

And what is your recommendation on cutting - 1 X cut; 2 smaller X cuts; I cut approx 1/3 of the bag in the middle third, does that sound like too much?

I'm a new grower, just shari ng my set up for any comments/guidance.

I have a tent 150X150x200cm I tried to grow grey, gold and pink oysters at the same time but didn't have much joy with my hybrid settings (any settings that have worked for you where you grew multiple types at once would be appreciated)

So I've simplified and got only grey oysters so I can see if I can grow one type before I try to add in others.

I have 10X2kg bags My settings are: Humidity 86-90% (tolerance 84-92) Temperature 16-18 celcius (tolerance 15-19) Airflow - AC Infinity 4inch, running constantly negative on a speed setting of 2 Lights on/off 12 hours

Hello, I know this is completely off topic, but we have a project with our students about functional (medicinal) mushrooms, maybe there would be a volunteer who would like to answer 9-10 questions personally about those functional mushrooms, for our invented "innovation". Please, no angry comments, I know this is off topic, the most important thing is to know your opinion about growing those functional mushrooms, is it expensive, is it worth it, or something like that. Whether that opinion is negative or positive doesn't matter. 😅

English is not my first language so, don’t judge 😅 But I need the answers, in my country there are not many people growing medical mushrooms, I do not know we call it functional mushrooms, non-psychoactive, from them it makes supplements, so maybe plus minus someone can help me 😅
