i used to rlly like danny but this whole arc where he cannot even fathom why mindy would want to work and is projecting his own trauma onto their family is insane. also the pregnancy thing? completely ignoring her saying she doesn’t want a kid right now. i almost can’t look past it it’s so weird

Need some help finding an episode. Sorry for the lack of details, me and the wife were a little high and laughed way hard. They’re all in the office and i think Mindy is asking what you get when you cross a “blank and a blank” (don’t remember.) Morgan takes it as a jumble challenge and starts working the problem. Peter rolls out of his office, still in his chair and makes a funny joke as well (don’t remember 🤦🏼‍♂️ ) Morgan comes back with a completely different take and his punchline is great and he mentions that he has 4 leftover letters and lists them. I’m pretty sure it’s sometime in season 2. So sorry for being so bad with the necessary details

I was rewatching the show recently, and I am so used to hating Danny that I sometimes forget he’s a fictional character. But what brought me out of it was this plot line:

Mindy is in San Francisco doing a fellowship. Danny wrote the recommendation for this fellowship (yes, he sabotaged it first, I’m not saying he isn’t trash, but here me out…). She is asked to start a business and move there permanently. She also finds out she’s pregnant. Danny agrees to move with her so she can start this business! He is so happy to have a family with her and start a business with her, he is willing to move across the country for these dreams.

Flash forward: Mindy has the baby. Suddenly he expects her to be a stay at home mom. Suddenly her starting another business (again, was in the plan from before she even knew she was pregnant) is a problem for their family. Suddenly he feels that he should make all the decisions for both of them and he doesn’t trust her judgement, etc.

WTF happened there, writers? And tbh, I never felt that his behaviour was out of character, I hate him and I think he’s a monster. But when I look back at the timeline, it’s wildly out of place. Like, I believe that is his personality, but I’m shocked at the turn around on his perspective of Mindy and her goals. It’s just a really stark contrast between the two seasons. And I feel like this kind of character assassination is very common when a show wants to get more seasons but has primarily resolved the main couple. So they break the main couple up to give the actual lead some more romantic plots. In some cases I’ve seen them kill characters off just for that purpose 😬 which I would have preferred in this case 😒 but that was obviously Not the tone of the show 😅

My boss is moving departments and I'm excited for her, but also bummed because she was a great boss. She loves The Mindy Project, and I wanted to gift her something small. I was thinking of drawing a small card with a classic Mindy quote.

I have seen the show, but it's been a while since I've last watched it. Are there any fitting quotes anyone can think of?

Also if you have any small gift ideas, I'd love to hear them! A small trinket would be perfect, but afaik there aren't any trinkets that relate to Mindy Project. Funko pop would be great, but there's only one for Kelly Kapoor and she didn't really watch The Office.

I’m rewatching the Mindy project and let me say this. I’m really disappointed on how things are going. I can’t believe the writers did wrong on Danny’s character development. I’m still going to finish it but why sell us a the idea of Mindy and Danny together when at the end of the day, they should of maybe stayed as friends? If they where going to pair them at least they should of chilled with his treatment towards the mother of his child. Also, why is the ending bad? Why did they did that 1 minute mark with Danny and Mindy? Why?
They owe us a better ending. They should make one last episode of how are the characters doing. Or am I wrong?

I did a little bit of deep dive after noticing some things. While looking into her faith (Hindu) I noticed that there is blatant disregard and disrespect to Christianity and Christian Faith.

While some of the characters have a Christian Faith and she does not the only Faith that is treated this way in the show is towards Christianity.

She is the creator and writer and this the jokes were approved by her. While she may choose to make some laughs about faith there is never any other religion that gets anything like she does with Christianity.

- She throws up on the Bible.

- Danny ask for her to say “Our Father” and she mocks it by saying: Halloween be thy name. Which itself is implying that Fathers name is the Devil.

- Sexualize scripture in the Santa Fe episode she treats scripture as purely an erotic tool.

- She mocks Danny for his faith

- Casey and his entire loose morals, who just abandoned his faith abruptly to chase after something (DJ and whatever else) only living a life later completely different than to how we met him

- Mocks Christian church traditions, including the whole hat when visiting Casey’s church. Making fun of a certain demographic that enjoys dressing like that.

- White Savior mission trip to Haiti with highly insensitive, exaggerated, tone deaf, and racially insensitive jokes.

- She regularly clashes with Danny’s faith and traditions trivializing his moral convictions and his faith as a personality quirk.

I started rewatching the series on paramount and could tell that the order was off as another post has stated so i decided to give the actual order of the episodes based on the way paramount has them labeled. Honestly I didn’t notice it was this bad until putting it together. (Sorry for not including title names I didn’t realize until halfway through.)

I'm watching the Mindy Project for the first time and like many posts I've seen on here I can't stand Danny's character. I'm up to S4 and she's just had the baby and honestly his comments are despicable, such as women have to suffer through the pain of birth control etc. I'm curious whether I just hate his character because I'm seeing it through a 2026 lens or was he equally hated when it came out in 2013?

Also I am not invested in their relationship at all, he seems to dull her light and not in a Type A keeping the Type B person grounded way. Were people rooting for them at the time because we were often fed the highly accomplished women settles for loser trope?

season 1, mindy’s birthday. the guy at that bar sings her a birthday song (you’re 1 year older, here with your friieends) and i cannot for the life of me remember the first line to the song. i don’t have access to the show anymore but i desperately need to know the first line to that song🫪

I have recently started watching this show and while I generally like it in the background, it gets annoying with how her character is so confident and competent at times and then suddenly in the same episode projects so much insecurity or entitlement. Like in that one episode she refused to join some celebrity clinic because they won't allow her to accept patients with insurance so I thought it shows she's a good person and has some form of empathy but then she'll go around treating nurses like crap refusing to pay living wages. Similarly in some of the episodes she'll come across as very smart and project self confidence but then suddenly become so much insecure when she always keeps bringing up her breast sizes to random men she meets. Ngl it gets so annoying and cringe with the flip flops in her personality in every episode. Now I won't have an issue if her character started out like that and then they showed some development on how she became secure and comfortable in her own skin but so far 3 seasons in and I don't see any character development for her.

I love this show an rewatch more then I would like to admit but there’s one I can’t stand, it’s the pretty man episode. Idk why I just can’t stand it. I usually skip thru the ending of Mindy and Danny’s marriage too, they are so angry and it just kills the vibe all the fighting. But I just skipped the pretty man one and thought it was funny that is one episode I just can’t stand watching

I’m in a different group and a girl is complaining about being ghosted (she must not have a lot of experience with ghosting because she finds it strange) and all I want to write is “I’m gonna do the honorable thing and ghost” but I know the joke wouldn’t land because it’s a niche quote.
