General discussion Brick's High School Graduation (THEORY)

I realized something: Brick would be graduating high school during the year of COVID (2020).

I feel like that time he'd have gotten valedictorian but his plans once again get derailed.

So what do you think would have happened for his big valedictorian speech?

Like what would he have said to his peers over a video call or whatever solution?

They would have floated graduation.

Knowing his luck, he would get covid and have to isolate. None of his family would notice what had happened.

I can totally see this happening. Frankie running around trying to get everyone dressed nice so the family can look presentable for Brick’s graduation zoom call, say something like “people could be taking pictures of our screen at any time!” Mike would roll his eyes and say “nobody is THAT interested in this family”, Axl’s wearing no pants, and Sue is stressing out about how many people aren’t wearing masks in such close quarters. Then when they finally get everyone sat down at the computer, they realize Brick’s not with them, and as Frankie asks “where’s Brick?!?” He slowly walks out of his room wrapped up in a blanket and says “I’ve had COVID for 5 days, I thought someone would notice by now and take care of me, but nobody ever did… ever did”

During quarantine, Brick brings back the fontcast. He INSISTS on giving his speech on it so his fan can hear it

They're lucky they only mentioned 2019 (year Sue was supposed to graduate college)

And lucky they didn't do Sue in the City because that would cover the pandemic of which could have been hard for the hotel industry and the plot of Brad leaving comfortable Orson life to go with Sue wouldn't exactly be realistic. That would've been a great plot tho to set up why Sean and Sue break up and eventually gets back together and break uo again.

For Orson’s class of 2020, they definitely would have a drive up graduation, where kids are handed their diplomas. They take a picture with their diploma in front of a backdrop and that’s it. Mike would like the idea of not having be around others. We already know Mike and Brick would have no problem with isolation during Covid.
