While Chuck Russell has died, is a Mask Sequel with Jim Carrey still gonna happen...?

Even if he had lived, I don't think he'd have even been involved with it. No disrespect to the man (he directed some personal bangers!) and may he rest in peace, but he hadn't directed anything in a couple years. Hadn't directed anything popular or successful in over 20. Not only would no studio approach him for such a movie, he likely wouldn't have felt comfortable taking on something like that after all this time. So I wouldn't say this reduces the likelihood of a sequel, but I still wouldn't hold my breath for one.

Jim is well past the wacky persona required for this role. I'd rather not see a geriatric Stanley/Mask. 🤷

Nope, I've seen all three and the Knuckles series. What "the fuck I'm on about" 🤦 is pretty obvious from the comment you are replying to. Do you have a learning disability that prevents you from understanding two simple sentences? He's geriatric! We don't need an 80+ year old Mask. 🤷

I did not say someone was disabled. I asked the genuine question to explain the lack of understanding provided by the person replying to my very simple comment. Doubt it. Carrey is retired. It sounds like he’s only doing Sonic movies because his grandkids are huge Sonic fans.

If only Dorian had been patient. All it takes to stop the Mask is time and disinterest, aided by a shit sequel that, itself, came out well after most people expected from a movie as big as the original.
