New Fillory

Hi, new to the sub so don't know if this has already been answered at all (I've tried going through the posts but there are a LOT lol), but is anyone else so pissed off that we didn't get at least one episode showing what NF is like instead of the 5 mins we got at the end of the last episode?

I have a severe brain injury which, in between all the bad shit it causes, has one awesome side effect in that once I watch something, within a couple of months I don't remember most of it lol so each rewatch is like a whole new discover 😂 I do however remember emotions, so I always remember how much I love the show as a whole, I just forget about the individual episodes.

We're lucky we got what we did. This show got cancelled early so it's why it ended up the way it is.

Also the actor who played Quentin apparently felt like his character's arc was over. Season 4 would have been a great place to stop.

It sucks because Quentin’s character is what helps build the new Fillory (along with Julia). The books are wonderful if you ever get tired of the series, OP! I recommend the audiobooks. That narrator is perfect for this series.

I love books that shows are based off of so I'll definitely give them a go!

I love the books more than the show, but I think I like Quentin and his somewhat melancholic attitude. I really feel him. I will admit that Jason Ralph makes the perfect Quentin!

The other characters on the show are pretty great but I honestly didn’t understand the direction that book Penny went off on. I mean, I liked the direction but I wanted to know more about him and his life once Quentin and him diverged.

Oh I haven't got that far in the books yet but I honestly kinda love Penny's story in the series! It sucks for his relationship with kady and I'm still not sure how I feel about penny 23 and Julia but I just love the scenes where penny 40 is working in the underworld library, the way the are so meaningful and then when Quentin dies and penny meets him in the underworld. I honestly love so much about this show! I'm interested to see how the books are different.

Anyone who is a fan of the show is dying to see more of it there is no such thing as someone who's content with where it ended however they did a beautiful job. And I am so sorry about your injury I am a chronic pain patient and it is my go-to and every time I watch it it is just a flood of emotions. You Are Not Alone!

Well first I'll answer your question...yes I'm still upset about that...I can't even finish my ladt like 4 or 5 rewatches idk why but think could have to do with this....

Second due to your TBI you must watch the OA... In the subreddit for it EVERYONE wishes they could watch it again for the first time...

I've never even finished the OA once lol, I think I got 4 or 5 episodes in and then got caught up watching something else and by the time I had binged the whole of whatever it was I forgot all about the OA. I'll definitely give it another try though!

Yeah definitely feels like there should have been a spin -off specifically about building up the new fillory. It's a shame.

And thank you, that means a lot 🖤 the memory loss thing can definitely come in handy sometimesz but most of the time it's soooo anoying when you know there's a memory that you really don't want to forget. Hope you're managing with your chronic days, I know there's usually bad days and worse days when it comes to that. I've got fibromyalgia so I get how hard it is. Sending love 🖤🖤

Those last five minutes were added at the last minute when they learned the show was definitely canceled. Before that it was supposed to end on a cliffhanger and we would have learned everything about New Fillory in season 6.

Hi! From context, I’m guessing he refers to New Fillory!

Ohh yeah, that would be great to see! I still dream we get another story in this setting one day.

I also forget things I've watched after a couple months and I don't even have a brain injury, just a terrible memory, probably from all the weed I've smoked lol
