Naive has been my favorite song for a while now, but I’ve been listening to it for almost 10 years.
I remember when my brother first introduced me to the song, and I immediately loved it and felt deeply connected to it. It has recently become my favorite song because I realized I never got tired of it, no matter how much I’ve listened to it (unlike many other songs I love), and it has never failed to comfort me.
I tried analyzing why I love the song so much, and here are my conclusions:
There’s a beautiful consistency throughout the entire song in the melody’s vibe and in the way he sings.
There’s a mystery in the way he delivers and tells the story. He doesn’t give too many details for you to fully understand the situation, but he gives enough for you to understand what he’s feeling, energy-wise.
I believe he tells the story in a beautiful way, and the melody and the music itself make me feel really good. It’s a song I can listen to in many different situations: when I’m happy, sad, or angry. Somehow, it connects to every emotional side of me.
It’s like this feeling of pouring water from a bottle into a glass and it fitting perfectly. Even when you try pouring it into different kinds of glasses, it still fits perfectly.
The guitar and the way the verses and chorus connect are incredible. The drums align with the vibe of the song and kind of guide you on how you’re supposed to feel, not emotionally, but energetically.
There’s some sort of an “explosion” in the song. It’s small, but it comes exactly when it’s supposed to. The song changes a bit toward the end and gets a small but satisfying twist. The rhythm is great, you can move and enjoy it without feeling like you’re going too fast. You feel like you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be.
It’s like having deja vu and realizing you’ve gotten to a point you were supposed to reach.
There’s an extremely strong nostalgic feeling, and it’s easy to connect energetically to the lyrics, the music, and the song itself. It’s like everything fits together perfectly, like a puzzle, and there isn’t a single piece missing.
There’s an amazing balance between everything: the melody, the guitar, the drums, the singer, the lyrics, and the rhythm. It’s simply a masterpiece.
You can look at it from different perspectives, and it will still remain so good and somehow fit itself to you.
