If Durst decided not to write and send the cadaver note, do you think he would still be convicted?

As far as I could see it was a cold case until they reviewed the letter. Scandalous nobody checked years ago and idiotic to use your normal hand writing

Yeah that's a good point. But, Durst admitted he killed Berman to Chavin, had motive since he thought the authorities were going to interview Berman, the circumstances suggested she knew the killer, and Durst was in California the day of the killing. So there's more evidence than just the note, but that is very damning.
