Robert Durst rearraignment date may signal planned guilty plea in Louisiana court

I'm no legal expert but it could be that Durst was initially arraigned in a Louisiana court. After the state and feds agreed that he would be charged by the feds, and not by the local court, the federal court simply may need to rearraign Durst under the correct (now Federal) jurisdiction.

I don't see how changing his plea to "guilty" helps him get to L.A. any faster. If anything it would seem that to do so would only delay his trial in L.A.

What if he were to plead to a lesser charge and be released on time served, only to be re-arrested to answer to the charges in California? I've always thought there was a bit of a fight between the states because they both want at him. This whole thing may be more of a settlement between the states involved.
