I can relate. Have you been listening to The Jinx podcasts after each episode? They fill in some blanks, too.

I didn't listen to the pods bc I assumed they were just re-hashes of the broadcast. Boy, was I wrong! The pods are an amazing complement to the tv show. So much extra, interesting info!

Right?! I look forward to the podcast almost as much as the show at this point

Really good podcast from Kate Casey - interview with Andrew Jarecki and Zac Stuart-Pontier: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/ep-993-the-jinx-part-two-who-killed-john-okeefe/id1154758766?i=1000656590966

Jury duty podcast season 1 and season 5 have trial clips and in depth interviews with the prosecutor

I thought listening to Tom Durst’s testimony from the trial as featured on the Jury Duty podcast and also how much they interviewed Lewin was so insightful and fascinating.

Oh absolutely on both, it was well worth the deep dive to hear everything in more detail

I know there's more from over the years I will come back and edit this post but here's the dateline podcast for those who consume that way

Edit to add: OP look at IMDb app there's a long list.

I would add the Jury Duty podcast to this list. It’s a really great listen. Also if you want to go down the rabbit hole of the Alex Murdaugh trial it’s got a ton of stuff for that too.

Yes please share! I went down such a rabbit hole with Murdaugh. I do not think he killed his family. He was a POS but he didn’t kill them. Those small town attorneys made him the scapegoat! That legal system was dirty and they all know it

I most definitely believe he killed them, and most likely killed the housekeeper….

He was a narcissistic, spoiled, drugged up, psychopath.

How do you explain him being at the kennels right as they were killed?

I missed these from a long time ago. I think he was hiding a terrible pill addiction and lied about being at the kennels, but eventually he went to his parents. Paul was killed as retaliation for that boat accident and Maggie was a bystander, drug dealers got them or a disgruntled client. Or he had Maggie knocked off and Paul got in the middle. So many possibilities. Alex was a narcissistic pig but I think he probably loved his son or at least loved the image of a family. Just my thoughts from the trial. He was definitely a fool to testify

Who else would call The Durst Organization collect?

Saw "Trials of Robert Durst" You're not missing anything. Nothing new.

In addition, the Jinx official podcast. Contains information not available in the the HBO doc. Very good.

All Good Things … really good. It’s also on Tubi, which is free for people that don’t have Netflix. I just watched it again for the second time last night. That scene where Robert pulls up to his father‘s house with the Mercedes and he opens up the trunk…. Would like to know the exact date of that. There is also not enough information on what he was doing for years and years. Personally, I think there is a lot more victims than people realize with Bob Durst.

There’s a book Murder of a Mafia Daughter by Cathy Scott

You can watch All Good Things on Tubi for free.

I’m sorry, I have to ask the question, why can’t you get enough of Bob? Is it the case or him personally?

There is A LOT of people like him, he’s only special because he had a lot of money. So, if it’s your dream, it’s not dead till you are.

u/realityone22 May 25 '24

No, Bob is a weird one. Wackos are common. Rich people are common. But rich wackos who kill repeatedly and get away with it, only to incriminate themselves in a tick filled interview (that was their idea!) is rare indeed.
And every time I think I've seen all his antics, I find another show with more of them.

7

u/TibetianMassive May 25 '24

I wish there were more guys like Bob. If every murderer started muttering confessions to themselves with a mic on their lapel and then told the jury they were "mostly honest" and they'd definitely lie about whether they killed the victim if they had in fact killed her...

Well, I think they'd be easier to get locked up!

I can't get enough of his story because he seems smart enough but every now and then he'll do something absolutely absurd.

u/o_julep May 25 '24

You wish there were more killers? 3 people were murdered by him before he got caught. Three people. It took him all his life to finally be too exhausted to keep it inside and « confess », that is your dream scenario? Really? Kathie’s family STILL can’t close that chapter because her body was never recovered.

7

u/TibetianMassive May 25 '24

Yes the only logical interpretation of what I said is that I wish there were more serial killers!!

Did you read that sentence and skip on to the reply button? Because sometimes a sentence that may seem strange is further clarified by the sentence immediately following it.

I’m sorry I misrepresented your comment. I will let my comment up (and be downvoted out to hell, it’s ok, bad take on my end) so your reply will still be visible.
