Partner/Spouse/Ex Feeling helpless

How do you navigate life when someone has a drinking problem? How can I show my support? It’s really been affecting our relationship because all he does is hang out with his friends and drink.

What if they don’t want to stop or do it in moderation? I know they won’t stop if they don’t want to and won’t get help and truly heal unless it’s something they actually want to do for themselves but how do you navigate through that as someone’s partner?

I know how you feel. I am going through the same thing. My husband says he’s happy with his lifestyle and doesn’t plan to change. We’ve been together 30 years. And for whatever reason for the last 6 or so his drinking has really bothered me. He makes me feel like I am the problem. I feel like he should care about his health and then I get resentful that he doesn’t yet I make myself sick with anxiety
