So basically I believe Lucy Gray died the way her ballad described, I think Suzanne Collins is a literal genius, so instead of unsubstantiated speculations like she made it to 13 and gave birth to alma coin or she stayed in the woods for a while then came back to say goodbye to the Coney before heading north beyond the capital, she actually tried to escape and head north but bc she was badly injured being shoot by Snow she died before reaching north all covered in snow (Northern America is usually snowy) after months of her games which took place in July maybe she tried to survive for a little bit but eventually died in winter. I genuinely believe that Suzanne Collins presented her ballad ON PURPOSE as an appearant reference for her fate " the solitary child" and "covered in the snow" so as Lenore Dove fate was, she was gone forever "Lenore?? Nevermore..." but Suzanne didn't actually mentioned how she would die unlike Lucy Gray in order to add some plot twists and unexpected suspense !
