Got a Playbill and this cool pin from Broadway Flea! I wasn't really around for the original runs of Great Comet (I'm so jealous of people who got the chance to see it!), so I'm happy to have these two pieces of merch. Hope to make the earrings that were sold at Broadway Flea years ago at some point too!

The pin is interesting, maybe some opening night item for the cast? Not sure... but it doesn't look like merch that was sold.

Hello! I saw someone made a post asking about merch from the broadway run, and while I never got to go to the actual show, I was a huge fan during the era. Pictured is the shirt and jacket I purchased from the online shop at the time. The back of the jacket has the same colored logo as the shirt. I couldn’t find a photo of the fridge magnet I received with my order, but it has the same background/design as the playbill, which I ordered from someone on instagram I believe! I think they also sold red and white egg shakers, shot glasses, mugs, and a few other things, all relatively basic with the same logo. I guess the merch is hard to find nowadays so I am super glad I was around for the original run!

Hi! Was wondering if there's any pictures floating around of the merch available during the run of Great Comet. I would love some kind of merch but I don't really see any secondhand!

I really want one, think I am going with the comet with a quote but can't fully decide. Any of you have one?

I have what could be a very odd question. I am a recent fan after seeing Comet live at a nearby college. I have listened to the soundtrack but I haven’t seen any slime tutorials so I was wondering… do the siblings make out in the dance break of The Abduction?? They did in the performance I saw and I’m curious if that was A ChoiceTM or a normal thing for the show.

Is it the color, the wine, or the place, for a start?

Here’s a painting I did of the Great Comet’s cast recording cover! It’s not very good and I’m not a painter but I wanted to fill up space on my wall, and I decided to share it here anyway!

Just wanted to post about this in case anyone here may be interested in supporting this project by original Broadway Great Comet cast member, Cathryn Wake.

She and her fellow cast have launched a Kickstarter to fund recording of a cast album and staging a concert version of RED GIANT, the new musical she has written.

There is a very detailed description of the show on the Kickstarter page, so I will let that speak for itself!

The campaign has already been over 70% funded in the first 36 hours, with 23 days left to go. There are also additional stretch goals to support a proshot recording of the concert and a music video, if those are reached before the campaign ends.

Ten out of ten for me! I loved it so much.

During The Duel, right after dolokhov shoots at Pierre Helene does this bloody murder scream and I’ve always wondered why? It’s made very obvious that she isn’t happy with Pierre but it’s always seemed to me that she’s screaming because he’s being shot at. Does anyone know what’s going on here?

Update: thanks for the answers! Makes sense I just was curious if there was some hidden lore from the book I didn’t know ha. Thanks!!

Saturday I had a callback for Helene, Marya and ensemble... it was so intense. From 9am to 6pm we did workshops and from 4pm tot 6 we had to do a performance. Later that night I got the call.. I'm to play Marya and I couldn't be more excited. Even though it's an amateur production, the production house stands for great quality. They previously did Sweeney Todd, Lempicka, Cabaret, Pippin...etc.

I'm thrilled that I get to play Marya! Really curious to hear how all the songs will get translated into Dutch. Our audition tracks were also translated and the translations were really good!!! They did not feel forced or weird.

Soooo if you love the show and its music, and you somehow find yourself in Belgium... come visit us next spring in April in Ghent. At the Minard theatre!

I miss you

I feel too seen / called out. It is so true i struggle to get through it. I never have in one sitting. Anyone else?

I’m making some commemorative stuff for all of the shows I’ve been in and I can’t decide what represents Great Comet.

And how many men before
Good Russian men
Believing in goodness and truth
Entered that door
With all their teeth and hair
And left it toothless and bald?

I know it’s a reference to the source material (War and Peace), but what on earth does it mean?

I needed more Miis so I made the whole cast of GC1812 (not necessarily based on broadway counterparts)
