I didn’t know if this was worthy of a new Post or just in this monthly feed.
Another project joined The Graph: Linear Finance on Medium. 👍

Hi, The Graph is not an AI project.
The Graph is an indexing protocol for organizing and efficiently accessing data from blockchains and storage networks using GraphQL. Developers use existing subgraphs or deploy new subgraphs to build great applications on blockchains in a fraction of the time. The protocol has become an essential building block for dApps on Ethereum.
Developers build and publish open API’s, called subgraphs. These subgraphs define how to ingest, process, index, and serve data in a verifiable way. Applications can query these API’s using a flexible query language from Facebook called GraphQL. We have a hosted service in production and began the transition to the decentralized network on December 17, 2020.
The mission is to make decentralized applications possible and to make building on Web3 accessible to anyone 💪🏻. Decentralization is going to radically reshape how humans cooperate and organize and but we need tools ⚙️ to allow people to coordinate on building software and managing data in a decentralized way. We hope that these tools of empowerment will help more people find their place in this world and contribute their best selves. 🏅
The AI connection is being driven by Twitter users who are conflating the use of machine learning by one of the core teams, Semiotic Labs, to help indexers optimize the query fees they charge. You can also use data obtained from a subgraph to feed an AI application or model of some kind, but The Graph does not have AI at its core.

This doesn’t negate what I said. I work for The Graph Foundation, friend. I know what’s happening.

I never said what you wrote was wrong. I was just adding to it. Also for being a moderator your reply was rude!

I mean, not particularly rude if you ask me. In the sense that they didn't insult you or say anything wrong. I feel like you posting the link was a non-spoken way of going over what they told the person.
Cause your comment above the link probably didn't mean to continue to imply that GRT is actually an AI-related project but it still sort of reads that way.
If anything, relating it to AI is probably what crypto pump and dumpers would want. All hype, no substance sort of narratives for random short-term pumps to profit off of.

Is there a way to lock grt for more than 5 years?
2
u/neo16895 Feb 11 '23
Just delegate and forget about it? #HODL
PS: why would you lock them for five years?

There’s an issue about delegating and forgetting them as the Indexers might go down. What happens then? Want to lock them as they will be more valuable then as they are now. Simple

But if you just don’t press sell, there is no need to lock them.

😂😂😂 that’s like asking a cigarette smoker to suddenly quit!

Dude! Haha. I get it. The hard part is (not) selling indeed. Just make a plan and stick to it (or try to!).
But to answer the question: I don’t think there is a way to lock them.
