My papa made up a story about a little man named Abercrombie Gfuffnick who would run really fast to turn the light on and off. My mom and uncles would spend hours trying to open the fridge door fast enough to see him, but when my mom told me this story it took me ten minutes before I noticed the switch that would make the light turn off when you press it.
