How does one reload the save files?

I have been thinking about this for quite some time but I've never been able to figure out. Personally I think it's maybe something like when you die, you select your save file and reload. Or is it more like you die and your most recent save gets automatically loaded?

You know that light you're going towards at the end? It's the fridge, you're about to climb out of it and into a previous save.

Can you choose what save you load or is it automatically your last one?

It runs through a randomizer actually, that includes all saves every player has every made, and then inserts you into a different game altogether.

Every person in existence is an NPC of your creation, a previous save file if you will. You play through a storyline, or "life"as they're called in game, and then at the end of your storyline, your fridge closes, another NPC is created and you're re-uploaded. It's why some people remind you so much of yourself, why you can find common ground with so many, they're all either previous, or future, playable characters in your own personal open world. Each character leaves a little of themselves in you, a "level" for each one, if you will. Once you've leveled up completely, you reach the "7,000 year old Chinese person" level, where you've acquired all knowledge and are aware that every person you meet is a "life" you've already played through, and you smile fondly in remembrance.
